Microsoft's acquiring Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion

Well I guess EA is the next logical step that they will be wanting they for sure are not going to stop trying at this stage.

If they get this past regulators, there isn't much to stop Microsoft trying for another major publisher.

I expect this deal to take a long time to close. Not sure what they would try next. EA would be a huge buy, as would Ubisoft, or Take-Two. Trying to think of other major publishers.

With the way Activision Blizzard is looking lately, there will be a lot of things that Microsoft will need to fix once this deal closes.

The only reason to make the offer is because of what is going on over at Activision. It's an easier sell and buy.

I really hope they don't allow this to go through. It would basically isolate an entire ecosystem of games to Xbox or PC both of which MS own.

Sony needs to start making moves. They are getting complacent again like they did with PS2 to PS3.

Be interesting to see if they make COD an exclusive, Interesting to see what they do with WOW and overwatch

Microsoft when the companies they own start giving them lip :D

I wonder how this will impact games like WoW.

IF it's allowed to go through I imagine a stipulation is non-exclusivity.

Sony have rested on their laurels, even closed some of the best studios they've ever had. So I have no sympathy for them however this goes.

I guess BK is probably job hunting at ... BK?

As much as I'm against corporate moves like this one, I think that Microsoft will do a much better job with those IP's. Activision just sucks. Everything about them and their business model sucks. Nothing of value is lost if their IP's are transferred to Microsoft. In fact, considering that WoW, Warcraft, StarCraft, Overwatch and Diablo are basically PC titles, it's kinda natural for them to be under the creators of Windows.

I do think the likes of Wow went downhill after the blizzard merge with Activision.

If Microsoft gets this deal done and gets rid of the pig that is bobby kotick, it might actually help Activision/bliz.

Hes not the issue. The toxicity was there before he showed. Its everyone below him thats the problem.
How do you expect the situation to change for the better when your superior is a psychopath? Because Bobby Kotick is a corporate psychopath.

Well he will leave of his own accord anyway. There is no way on earth MS will pay his current salary.

My thinking is that in order to overthrow a tyrant, the people must come together. When those people are the root cause of the evil, tyranny will never stop.

He was supposed to destroy the frat boy culture when he was brought in. But instead he has just put a blanket over it. Well you cant do that now that the world know whats going on. But in the case of the Blizzard culture, it has to start from the ground up, not the other way around. You try to have the top management change the attitude and way of working, of those below them, and those "frat boys" will laugh it off and simply continue their attitude discreetly. Blizzard needs a mass exodus of the scum that exist there. Then let the upper management refill those spots.

There is a world full of talented game desigers/developers who lost their jobs from previous poor circumstances. It wont be hard to replace the bad apples, provided that the new work force come with a better personality and attitude towards respect and decency in the work place.

Well he did threaten to murder his former assistant, Left her a threatening voice mail on her phone, And many other shady things including being quite chummy with Epstein AND visiting his island a few times, The guy has more skeletons in his closet than The Adams Family, I'm honestly surprised he hasn't been properly investigated.

yes, i know about that. But we are talking about the current Activision/Blizzard scandal right now, and that existed long before he came along :)

It would be nice if they added a wow sub to game pass. I'm hoping this will be a good thing.
