Microsoft will be releasing some of their games on Steam

This is probably because no-one uses the store and the 2 'big' games released on it have been pretty much a flop because no-one really knows they exist nor care...

Just put it on Steam.. there's a reason it's the go-to

I doubt FH3 is going to make it because of that crossplay trash and Microsoft has no other interesting IPs, so meh.

Nah it's always Steam, GoG pales in comparison with only a fist full of "Good" titles the rest are ancient re releases.

I know, but that's why you get new games to release on it. Then it will change:)
Could just do it on all platforms.. Gives us options:)

I have 400+ games on Steam, i like having my stuff in one place. GoG really competing with Steam is never going to happen.

There has been very little added to GoG for a long time, they keep trying to push Galaxy and even recently announced the future ability to move your games to and from Steam... to Steam yes! From Steam Why?

I just got 15-ish games on GOG during this sale. Never say never. DRM-free games are appealing to some; including myself.

DRM free is a bling term which has no importance to me anymore since i haven't encountered an intrusive DRM in years. There might be people who suffer from connection outages, but once that is resolved there's really no reason to fight DRMs anymore except idealism.
The Galaxy client is also a heap of trash right now, for no apparent reason it has CPU spikes up to 20% all the time. It also requires quite a lot of RAM and you can't limit the download speed.
The big thing GoG has going for itself is the 'we are not an evil company' label, in every other aspect Steam wins. All of those 15 games you can most likely get on Steam as well plus thousands of titles which are made by companies which do prefer a DRM and of course Valve's own titles. DotA and CSGO alone make sure that millions of people will stick with Steam over GoG.

I think that's only from Steam to GoG, i doubt Steam has any interest in letting people use their servers for games that were purchased on another platform.

I very much disagree. It's more about the potential virtual handcuffs to me than the intrusiveness of a DRM. Actually I don't think I've ever encountered an intrusive DRM.
About Galaxy, you might be right. I haven't encountered any issues apart from the download speed. I personally like the responsiveness of Galaxy over the Steam client tbh.
Your last point is really weird to me, though. I'm not trying to make a point for anyone to trash Steam in favor of GOG.

Me personally; I look on GOG before I look on Steam. For the record, I have five times as many games on Steam as I have on GOG, before anyone tries to call me out on that.

So you are choosing a client over another one over a potential issue, which really only exists in your head? Can you elaborate on the 'virtual handcuffs'?
I run GoG alongside Steam as well, but when we are talking about the broad range success of GoG we'll have to look at the average user, and the average user doesn't like to run multiple clients which all do the exact same thing (neither do i really, but i own a few games on GoG and i don't want to rebuy them on Steam). He'll just choose whichever offers the most and that is without a doubt Steam.

I'm not going to continue this discussion if you can't keep it civil. I'm trying to explain my point of view, not to convert you or anything of the sort.

Also; you can just add you GOG games on Steam. No one is forcing you to have the Galaxy client installed.

It wasn't meant as an insult, you described it as a potential issue, that implied to me that the issue doesn't actually exist yet.

I didn't know that, I would only used GOG to buy older games (yes i know they have newer games) But GOG is the place if you want old games.

i.e. Heroes of Might & Magic and so on

i dont want any more game services..
just installed origin today again to check it out. and loe and behold.. Subscription of £3.99 a month was offered to me.
I knew thats what they would do, and sure enough the entice you in with free games. "27 to be exact" that you can play for this £3.99 Provided you pay that £3.99 a month every month, because if you stop then those games are gone.. and you have to buy them.. But thats not all..
You have your subscription. your playing your game, all is well your about 60 hours in all is fine. And ea pull that game from the vault (they are allowed to do it its in the tos) Now if you want to continue playing you have to buy the game any way.

And this is what i said they would do, Fair enough. right now its only 27 free games locked behind a subscription. but it wont be long before your paid for games are also trapped behind a subscription service, And whats more. paying that subscription wont stop them pulling servers offline because they milked that cash cow enough any way.
So yeah no more stores.
Uplay and origin can go away.

I do use gog because i like the fact that they want to show people will buy games with no drm.
So i buy those games just to help prove that point.

Microsoft store?? You know for a fact that thing is going to end up subscription based if you want to play your games online. That is simply what they are going to do.. It may not be this year, may not be next year but it will happen..

So Given that I know by now that steam is not going to go subscription based. And it seems to be making enough money from game sales, and all those idiots uploading WoW trailers to steam green light for $100 a pop. I will be sticking with steam..
And if Microsoft, ea or ubisoft want to try and sell me games, then they need to put the dumb things on steam Or gog where i may actually buy them.
they will not get a sale out of me if they are not where i shop, and i will not give them the ability to force a subscription out of me by holding games i bought (or parts of them) at ransom.

P.S

thought id mention i like Denuvo, and hope every one stops trying to crack it. and the ones that can and have just dont give the cracks out.
i dont like stupid always on DRM forcing people to be online to play single player games and so on. and im much happier with a DRM that checks you own the game. says ok that is This pc, and lets you play it.. then if you change components you go online and say look here i need this re activated, and then it works again.

if people just leave this drm alone then it shouldnt end up with every game publisher having their own stupid store and gouging people with subscriptions to recuperate all the game sales they imagine they lost due to piracy.
