Microsoft reveals its Xbox Series S gaming system and it's staggeringly low price tag

Quick question, for the MS games service, do you download and play the games or is entirely streaming/cloud based? I'm under the impression it's cloud based which for me is a waste of time. I don't see the point in adding latency and ruining my gaming experience. Whether it's single player or not

I had 3 months of PC game pass with my GPU, and it downloads to the PC, I'd take it works the same for the Xbox pass as well, the ultimate pass gives Gold, xbox and pc game passes

You download them fully. MSFS for example was a horrible download... 127gb with a static screen, and the most annoying music on loop ever.

Other games though I have downloaded and played offline.

On Xbox you download them, but you need to be online to be recognised as having Xbox game pass. Once your sub expires, you lose access to the games you downloaded.

So everything being equal except the GPU and ssd size and it'll be at least half the price? Seems like the Series X is overpriced to me.

It's a whole different animal though, dude. Totally different design, mid chassis etc.

This will be great for 1080p I would imagine but not much else.

Oh, and the SeX doesn't look like a bloody announcement speaker at the airport ffs.

Nah it looks like the bass of a 2.1 system that you would see in Dixons at the airport.

Oh gotcha thanks for clearing that up.
127GB is insane. :o

I would say the only downside is you don't get the DLC

That's unfortunate. You'd think you would get it since you are continually giving them money.

Tbf on MS what I've seen all the subscriptions like this do the same, and as Warchild says you get a discount if you buy a game, so in theory you could pay for the subscription

I feel like that has already occured when I bought a few titles that were "leaving Xbox game pass"

Its a clever way to make sales for sure, when you remove it from their catalogue. It entices you to buy it to keep playing. But kingdom come deliverance was too good to give up.

Well if it's 30% forza 4 ultimate would save £24 and MSFS premium £33 so that's half the yearly subscription, and you could buy 3 months just to buy games cheap
