Bottom line with these products, they're used in the majority sense to do minor things. Although it can be said that cumilatively these things go together to make larger things.
But inherently when you use it, u do - a few lines.
Watch people or yourself use it.
EDIT: That sounds wrong to what I'm saying.
Basically take Word, blank page, write text, add pretty and clever things - 8 bit pcs used to do it (minus some of thrills), (u'd think quicker, but speak to typists about how keyboard->wp has slowed down and how they have to w8 for what they type to appear on the screen).
But what I'm saying is, apart from looks, security upates, patches - what else is there ?
Spreadsheets, I guarantee u open the package up and it looks 90% how they looked a handful of purchases ago. Better than the old ones ? There's camps for either side of that too, they add things and take things away. Nicer formating, formulas are still illogical pita at times - for why I don't know, for basic use tho it's ok. Oh and patches, fixes and security stuff.
Email, jeez I dunno, I've always de-selected Outlook as I have to use it in work, the organization idea behind it is ok, but don't ask it to do anything special. As a verbatim office tool tho, it works - plus fixes, patches, updates - and security stuff.
Bah, u buy/have Office XP or 2007, why would u really need to outlay for 2010 other than hype, things they took out that the other ones did and new stuff that if some1 else has 2010 u won't be able to mess with.
What I meant was, it's an office product, does officey things, as do oo, google thing, whatever. It's a basic operation.
Slate m$ ? me ?
