Microsoft Releases ‘Hohm’ for Home Power Bills

I'm missing something here. It's not too tricky a job to track the current used by the components u have, voltages too. And along comes some software, that they're intending to eventually charge for? that will advise u what costings u can expect.

Being on the pc side of the psu they aren't going to be terribly accurate. Without special connections, ur pc can't tell u if ur psu is converting more power into heat than ur pc actually needs.

If some1 really wants to get into this, I'd imagine a pass-through iec connector between ur traditional 'kettle' lead and ur psu would be a whole more accurate than this.

As for gimmicky things - sell it as software ? I'd expect something freeware.

AND why they intent on getting phrases into the community that sound/appear like homo ? We got a network security thing coming soon.
