Microsoft and ASUS have announced an expansion of their existing patent licencing agreement, allowing both companies to collaborate and cross-licence their products.

It just means that ASUS can put more Microsoft software on their devices, like include office on Android devices etc.

A lot of companies right now are coming to these agreements as software patenting is quickly becoming a non-thing as courts are sick of it and a program is essentially a mathematical construct and non-patentable (kinda).

If the big companies stop fighting each other they can better others.
