Hi all,

My Steelseries Ikari finally died and is in need of replacing... Can someone suggest me a mice which falls into these categories ? (I've been struggling to)

- I have very large palms but then quite short fingers, my grip therefor is somewhere in between a palm and a claw
- I love extra buttons, the more the merrier
- In game I would consider myself in the slower section of ''high sens'' users
- I like a heavy mouse
- I like a tall mouse
- I play mainly twitch FPSes (Cod4, TF2, etc)
- My colour scheme for my setup is blue/white so nothing which would clash
- I would love if there was a pinky rest as this was the selling point when I bought my Ikari.
- Under £50 please

So far my main contender was the G500s, but It does seem quite short height-wise so I'm unsure it would play well with my oddly shaped hands :/

Thank you ~ :)

Well, I think the white corsair M65 fits the desription quite nicely, apart from the pinky rest....

If it's enough buttons for you then I would of thought a Corsair M65 would be right on the money in every other respect. The black ones are always £50 at PC World/Currys so you could even go for a good gander at one, a blue lit white one might just look the nuts with your rig though :o

you play promod at a high sens? well, don't see that every day.
the steelseries rival is the best mouse i've ever used, but it doesn't have a whole lot of buttons and no pinky rest. however, it is pretty big and the weight is about medium.
definitely the best mouse for fps games, don't know why you need a whole bunch of buttons for fps games.

Steelseries Rival, perfect for big hands with big palms. The bit where your palm is is much wider than a normal mouse, it's the main reason I chose it as well as it being one of the longest mice around.

It lacks buttons though, it only has two side buttons, scroll wheel click and the main left and right click. You can change the colours of it to any you like, it has a RGB led so it can basically go any colour.

The sensor is top notch though, absolutely no acceleration or any crap prediction built in making it perfect for twitch shooters. The Steelseries software has the prediction and acceleration crap in it but you can disable it.
It also has a DPI switch where you can set two different DPI settings and switch between them on the fly.

Seems like it's between the DA and the Rival...
I like that the DA's m1/m2 are quite high off the ground, but the Rival is longer.

2 questions. 1) Can you change the lighting on the DA? and, 2) What's the coating like on both of them?

I believe that you can turn the light on and off on the DA. Also it has a rubber surface iirc.

I'd say that the DA is a great mouse if you have reasonably large hands. It fits your grip perfectly as I am pretty much the same with a kind of in between claw and palm grip. The mouse is quite long as far as the mice I've seen and has 2 buttons for the thumb, but unfortunately no pinkie rest :(. It has a nice braided cable and the lights are configurable (for if you don't like the Razer logo but love the illuminated wheel).

I don't have much experience with many other mice but the finish is excellent and has a nice, but not too heavy, weight to it.

The first few comments ruined me... I now want a white/blue M65 because of just how good it looks xD Also has an extra button advantage on the others, and weighs more...

But the rival will accommodate my grip better. But the DA will too... Grr.

This pic makes the DA look like a dream because it's so tall... I'm sure the rival can't be that tall

Func MS-3 if you want a pinkie rest, not sure how easy it is to use for twitch shooters though, otherwise Rival.
DA is 44mm tall, rival is 45mm tall and MS3 is 42mm tall.

Razer is usually not the best quality and I find their mice awkward. That's personal preference though.

I personally own a Roccat and it comes with a box of weights (4x 5Gr) which you can put in the mouse, drivers with which you can change the RGB LEDs in the mouse and it's pretty big compared to other mice, although they have downsized a little since the Kone [+], which is what I have.

They also do mice in different colour and they have an optical one if you're into that.

I'm going to be honest; I'm a bit of a Roccat fan, but that's just because of a positive user experience :)

I've also owned a Steelseries mouse (Kana) but I found it much too light and plastic-y feeling. Don't know what their other mice are like though.

Rival:
SIZE & WEIGHT
- Weight: 128 grams (0.28 lbs)
- Height: 45 mm (1.8 in)
- Width: 70 mm (2.76 in)
- Length: 133 mm (5.23 in)

DA:
Approximate size: 5.00”/127mm (Length) x 2.76” / 70mm (Width) x 1.73” / 44mm (Height)
Approximate weight : 0.23lbs / 105g

That func thing looks very comfortable... Just another option on the table I guess.

I guess the DA is knocked out since it doesn't technically have anything over the rival... So now it's a battle between Func (comfort), Rival (performance) and M65 (aesthetics)... Lord help me :P

MS-3 has 2 more programmable buttons and Aim button over Rival. I'd say if you want those extra buttons, pinkie rest and don't mind that it's 3mm shorter then MS-3, otherwise Rival.
