Sigh ......... can i say " Told you so !! " :D enjoy the TCCD . Honestly i would recommend Gskills LE over OCZ TCCD but its upto you .

Well I was never quibbling with you....I just know what I'm told. I wouldn't agree with either of ya unless I got the official notice through from Kustom PC's via the suppliers. Kustom will get the Rev 2 in for me so I'll go for the OCZ, but I'll keep Gskills in mind for the next build!

Thanks you lads! :)

care to tell us our source for this information ? Becoz as far as my knowledge goes, OCZ is still using TCCD in their PC3200 Platinum LTD Edition Rev. 2 ram. And about the TCCD stock ending , then OCZ wouldnt be coming out with PC5000 ram with TCCD chips in them , neither would Gskills be able to produce much more stock and Gskills price would rocket as well , since Gskill basically made a name becoz of the TCCD ICs.

The only ram that I know of that used to have TCCD but doesnt anymore is the Geil Ultra X platinum PC3200 . It comes with BH5 ramchips now . The Geil Ultrax PC4400 however still does use TCCD.

Ohh and the highest I have seen the OCZ Plat. is for $298 on Newegg when it was one of the very few TCCD based ram modules they had.

Ohh and my info has been confirmed by an OCZ rep over at the Xtremesystems.org so I know my facts on this for sure

EDIT :- For more info on ram with TCCD chips go check this link out

http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=43659 :yumyum:

Negative, the new OCZ Rev. 2 EL Plat does not have TCCD's.

And yes, TCCD's have been discontinued. Some of these companies may have a good stock level on them though.

Well the supplier that Kustom get their RAM from say that it does have TCCD's and don't think they would lie. They said that they have samsung TCCD's. So ther you go!

I'm not doubting that it doesn't have TCCD's... What I'm telling you is be careful that you don't get some thinking that it has TCCD's and then it doesn't. If they told you it has TCCD's then I'm sure it does. They aren't going to dissapear off the face of the planet instantly :D

Frag I know that TCCD has been discontinued but according to you the latest OCZ El. Rev. 2 doesnt have TCCD in it which is wrong. They are STILL using TCCD over at OCZ in those rams. OCZ however does have a new Gold series with 2-2-2-5 timings with Winbond die lined up and it has a very very attractive price tag of 200 dollars for 1 gb kit.

Like I said , I have confirmed this with an OCZ rep already but if you want I can send him a pm asking the same question again.

Just becoz Samsung ran out of TCCD does not mean OCZ did as well.

For your sake , I would really recommend doing some reading of the Xtreme Bandwidth section over at XS as OCZ reps hang around there almost all the time.

And FYI , before introducing ANY ram , OCZ reps make a public announcement on that forum with the specs and the info along with the test results of that ram on XS.

So i wonder where that conclusion came from :p

I was told by an unofficial source that they were using some new kind of Samsung IC in the Rev. 2.... As I stated before I never had a doubt that OCZ may have a huge supply of TCCD's laying around but from what I was told OCZ stopped using them in the Rev. 2 which apparently isnt the case.

ahh well , now i hope my explanation corrected that misconception :) .

The only company to really get hurt by not stocking up on TCCD has been Geil. Even Adata bought buttloads of stock and are now selling some nice overclocking sticks at an attractive price. If your interested head over to www.komusa.com . Their hyper memory brand is really ADATA memory under a different name ( komusa is the reseller for adata in USA ) .

Corsair , OCZ , Gskill , PDP , PQI all have a pretty decent if not good stock of TCCD left and will keep making those memories for about 2 months or more depending on the number of ram modules sold.

Yeah let me know how those are... I might pick up a few spare kits for future builds if you really like. Sneaky just picked up a 1gb kit himself and is waiting for it come in.

I might have one kit for sale myself , whichever performs less on my system . And by perform less I mean 300 mhz at least :D . It should either be the pair im running right now or the one I get . If your still into TCCD at that point maybe we can do some business ;) .

Sounds good lemme know :) I won't be looking for another set that HAS to hit 300, I already have my set that does that. :D
