Well to start things off I don't think I could ever be happier with a dual channel kit other than this stuff... It's absolutely insane and the boys at OCZ really know how to put together a mean stick. I originally purchased this ram for my new A64 build in November of '04 after reading up on which ram was going to be the best. The numbers and reviews I read kept pointing to this ram and the only drawback with it was the price. At the time it was in the mid-high $300 range for a 1gb kit which is pretty damn expensive, it's since dropped into the mid $250's. After purchasing the ram and the rest of my components (EPoX 9NDA3+, CBBFD week 42 '04 3000+ Winnie, and Thermalright XP-90) I slapped everything into the new case I had bought and it fired right up w/o a hiccup. Before I even installed an OS I wanted to see how far it was going to be able to get pushed before even burning in the CPU. After messing with the ram timings for about 30 mins I got it running at 300mhz fsb for a 2.7ghz final overclock out of the box at stock cpu voltage and 2.8 vdimm... VERY IMPRESSED I WAS! After letting my computer run for about a month and performing various Prime tests the CPU had been well burnt in at it 2.7ghz and I felt it was ready for more. Unfortunately my mobo limited my vdimm to 2.8 max, so I volt modded the bitch and cranked it up! I was able to achieve numbers in the high 3's but I obviously didn't run TCCD at that as it would have burned it up. I set the voltage at 3.0v flat and gave it another shot. My final timings ended up being 2.5-4-3-6 @ 310mhz for a 2.79ghz overclock. It's been running sweet ever since (until this new build up... grrrrr) and hasn't left me out to dry a single time. In conclusion: I personally don't think there's anything better on the market, anything with TCCD's is going to be a great stick of ram, but some companies like OCZ just know what it takes when making their PCB's and selecting all of the other little components that go on them.

Hey FYI. I found out that th new Rev. 2 EL Platinum doesn't use TCCD's and that's why it'd dropped from $380 to $250 so fast, I guess it uses TACD's or something of the sort... Don't buy the Rev. 2 unless you KNOW it has TCCD's.

I know that the G. Skill PC3200 LE uses the TCCD's so I'd try and find some of that before it's all gone too. I thought the final supply of TCCD based ram was bigger but apparently it's not.

Try and find some of that before it's too late to get TCCD's from anyone.

Right well I'll ask...but I'm not big on RAM knowelage, so if it doesn't then I need some new RAM so I may just get it anyhoo.

Hopefully the stuff they get will use it!

Oh well! :(

Hey FYI. I found out that th new Rev. 2 EL Platinum doesn't use TCCD's

care to tell us our source for this information ? Becoz as far as my knowledge goes, OCZ is still using TCCD in their PC3200 Platinum LTD Edition Rev. 2 ram. And about the TCCD stock ending , then OCZ wouldnt be coming out with PC5000 ram with TCCD chips in them , neither would Gskills be able to produce much more stock and Gskills price would rocket as well , since Gskill basically made a name becoz of the TCCD ICs.

The only ram that I know of that used to have TCCD but doesnt anymore is the Geil Ultra X platinum PC3200 . It comes with BH5 ramchips now . The Geil Ultrax PC4400 however still does use TCCD.

Ohh and the highest I have seen the OCZ Plat. is for $298 on Newegg when it was one of the very few TCCD based ram modules they had.

Ohh and my info has been confirmed by an OCZ rep over at the Xtremesystems.org so I know my facts on this for sure

EDIT :- For more info on ram with TCCD chips go check this link out
