Mechanical Keyboard

There used to be a chart with two axis and had all the mechanical keys marked on it. One axis was for noise and the reaction/tactile effect (if I remember right).

I cant find it anymore - even googling.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I'm trying to pick which keys are my preference.

Cheers

From that the only switch that makes any noise is the Blue. All the others are non clicky, bottoming out noise excluded, I don't think you get any noise from the actuation do you?

Hi leejc73 - thanks for that - it will work for what I want :)

However the original was on a graph - like a plot chart.

Cheers

Oh - and Ducky vs BlackWidow? Thoughts?

I use it for gaming and programming and typing and cad and video rendering and editing.

I'm the wrong person to ask mate as I use a Ducky Shine on blues as most of the stuff I do is typing which it's excellent at.

The BlackWidow runs browns doesn't it?

If you're happy to go with browns then don't see why not the razer device, if you want to actually choose your switch and back light then ducky is going to offer you more options.

Blackwidow runs blues, I believe the blackwidow stealth runs browns.

I find the tactile switches awful for gaming but they are very nice to type on. The audible click on the blues did drive me crazy.

In an ideal situation for me, I would have a brown keyboard for programming and a red for gaming. At the minute I'm using the red for both. For me personally I find that programming on a red KB is much more satisfying than gaming on a blue one.

It's all subjective, if you're in the UK go down to PCWorld and try some of the switches out, I know they stock at least blue (blackwidow), red (K90) and black (Steelseries 6gv2) boards now.

... makes me giggle that these newer keyboards at mucho prices are emulating keyboards we'd use in the 80s/90s that cost £2.50 from Cherry.

Cherry MX Blue/ White/ Clear/ Greens are best for gaming IMO. Blacks and Reds are naff, the lack of bump is weird, so you have no idea when the keystroke is registered, it took me a long time to try and get used to my blacks, touch typing is a complete no go, I found myself bottoming out the keys far too often, making a lot of unwanted noise playing TF2 at 3 AM lol

I am using the Das Keyboard Ultimate as we speak. It is a dream. To be honest for the first week or so after spending the £126 i was WTF have a i done. But even as i type this the joy you get is amazing. I still find myself pressing the backspace a few more times, but i honestly cannot remember the last time i looked at the keyboard whilst i type! (blue switches, no lettering!)

I will admit, I stumbled across this brand and this keyboard in my searches and immediately went "hmmmmm". Does seem like an ideal option in a way.

Thanks to all those for their input so far - going to maybe have to see where I can try out a few different keys.
