Hi OC3D people ;)

I will like to hear, what is the max volt on the sandy chip ? Just before i start on the OC to my friends pc i'm doing, will like to keep it in the save zone and make it abit faster to him. Or i will see what i can get out of it :P

And the cooler is a Corsair H100i to keep the temps good and low.

Kind Regards
Etlar

Sin, is 4.5 on 1.3 vcore. And have been doing OCCT linpack mode the last 18 house, is that not stable overclock the?

I've had my Vcore up as high as 1.456V for Stable @5ghz on my 3930k.

Mind you i do have quite an extensive cooling setup..... i would'nt be trying that on air haha!

it'll be interesting to see what i achieve on my R4BE when it arrives next week :-)

Completely different CPU so please ignore the above in relation to the OP question

The maximum is 1.5v, but I wouldn't suggest going higher than 1.4v-1.45v.
If you want more information, here is the PDF from Intel, page 80.
if you want to degrade the cpu faster by all means go over 1.4 for 24/7 use but please dont start a thread here "Why cant my CPU stay stable ...." cause you were warned. Use the forum search and you'll see several posts like this and all of them ran at over 1.4 for 24/7 use and ended up having to use that 1.4 to keep stock speed stable. Thats why alot of folks say stay under 1.4 for 24/7 use.

I shoved 1.6 down mine for one quick bench run @ 5.3Ghz suicidal I know but I wanted to see if it could do it and it did. oh and btw that was with a D-14 lol haven't tried it again since I went water.

I will just thank S_I_N on the help, and the 1.3 vcore is the only one that will run 4.5 ghz stable all the time ;)

Just need to run some more things and post up the last things to my build log to my friend ;)
