They always try to blow out the old stock when new hits the pipeline, but who would want the old junk anyways??!! lol

The 780ti is not junk! lol. I am loving this - time to buy another one to go 2-way SLI - that should do me for years. Who cares if it takes another few watts? :)

Looking at the current prices, another 780 Ti is looking massively tempting. I would probably need a higher capacity PSU as well to be on the safe side.

this is brilliant news im due an upgrade :)

speaking of... how much of an improvement would a 770 be over a 7870 tahiti?

Not very much. The 7870 XT when overclocked was around 7950 performance levels. So a 280. a 770 is almost identical in performance to a 280X. If you aren't overclocking I would say 20% increase? if you are 10% maybe? not sure exactly.

780 for 228 pounds? It does sound like a bargain. But does anyone know where i can find these prices? I can't spot them anywhere :(

If anyone could PM me, i'd be very grateful.

P.S. I'm not from the UK, so the reason may be that i don't know where to look.

Nice very nice. Will have to compare these to the specs of my to get list, may save a few hundred doing so. Thanks for the heads up.

Very nice indeed. It's tricky though because Scan also seems to have an MSI GTX 970 for 280 pounds. That looks like an even better deal. Decisions decisions.

im team, red "have been for a few years now. because nvidia took overscan away from me lol"
but if i manage to get the cash together even with these price drops.. I THINK i will be opting for a 970 Unless amd manage to pull something good out of the bag.
10% less performance with low temps and voltages with oc headroom for more than £50 less than a 970, and i will go amd...
if the price margine isnt that big. or the performance is not that close. or even if it is but temps or OC ability is not what i want.. then im pretty sure a 970 is my next gpu.

i cant help but wonder how much of this is:
"get rid of your old stock."
and how much is:
"try and make people upgrade now before amd release their new card"

having said that they always do it when they release new cards. Amd slashed prices on the HD 7xxx cards when they started with the "R" cards. even though they were prety close to the same spec. you could get the HD 7 cards for cheaper..
It does make me wonder really how much of it is simply get as many of our cards in to peoples systems now so they dont buy the competitions cards instead.

I don't really care why they're doing it tbh - it's damn good news. The 780ti is still a monster of a card - really guys if you have £350 for a graphics card it won't disappoint. And to have two of em - it's a bit obscene - but damn, that's going to be one rig that should last for a long time before it struggles to play games at the highest settings.

Nice price drops, but a new monitor is required before I think about adding a 3rd 780Ti, not to mention a new power supply as I have lost the spare PCI-E leads for my current one.
