Mass Effect 3 Tweaks

Sigh. Nothing seems to fix those edges. It's almost unbearable on Normandy, they're everywhere.

I read that only supersampling can fix them, but I only have the option of supersampling for transparency AA in Nvidia Control Panel...

Is 8xCSAA supersampling?

Sorry Xyad, I didn't mean to ignore you.

Supersampling is transparency. CSAA is coverage sampling anti-aliasing. They are two different settings.

I found this on the Nvidia forums:

2xAA working with 2xSupersamples

Make sure these settings "fit".

Maybe this will help. And again, I suggest getting rid of Inspector and simply using Nvidia control panel settings as well as your ME3 .ini.

I am using the control panel now, but what about the .ini? Anything I should change in there?

Did you return settings to default yet, and remove the Inspector?

Could you post your ini?

Also, Nvidia recently released a new driver version. I would try downloading that and doing a clean install (custom install, check the box).

Next, if you haven't made any changes to the .ini, add the following line under [System.Settings] bAllowPostprocessAA=True

Note that with your resolution you may not receive the same results using AA, AF, QCSAA, CSAA, MSAA etc. Start with just AA at 4x for you screen size. That should cause a noticeable change in your game, if not... it's not working. From there, you would then try forcing AA using the Control Panel. Add ME3 by clicking on the Manage 3D settings, clicking the Program Settings tab, click the Add button, and navigate to you install directory (ie. * Mass Effect 3\Binaries\Win32\MassEffect3.exe).

From there enable Antialiasing - Gamma Correction, and set Antialiasing - Transparency to 4x.

Again, if no changes can be seen, there is an underlying issue. Try reinstalling the game.

Wait do you mean in coalesced.bin?

What .ini are we talking about?

Well... we've found your problem.

You shouldn't change anything in the .bin file. The .ini is located in your documents folder.

Documents\BioWare\Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\Config\GamerSettings.ini

Make changes in this file, like I have shown in my first posts.

Just watched a youtube video of another player's experience on GTS 450 and determined it's a graphics card issue or a game issue.

I saw some 1080p videos on GTX 580 and some other cards and the same happens in all of them. Certain lines flicker quite badly when the image shifts, and when it's still they're jagged. (for example in the council room in the prelude - plenty of them on the floor and at the edge of desks)

Oh well... It was worth a try. Thanks for trying to help!

I can guarantee that this is not the same for everyone. I have yet to see jagged edges.

Ok, I just figured out ALL the answer to EVERYTHING!

I've attached a ME3coalesced editor. Run the program, located coalesced.bin in ... \Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\CookedPCConsole

It will show all available options for tweaking the system settings. I tried using the program to locate settings and then add them to the .ini to be safe, rather than messing around with the .bin.

I've registerd to get this. Many thanks!

hey guys can someone post a step by step tutorial on tweaking ME3 this is my first time doing this and i dont know what to do i really don't now

Thanks!! Used this and ME3 looks almost as good as the PC version should!!

I'm satisfied with the game now and I'll survive if an actual official HD texture pack doesn't ever get released!!!

Thanks again!! Awesome job!!

:cool:Thanks Cyanide89 for providing such tool. I found some headings in that .bin that may improve Graphic Quality in game.

bioengine.ini
systemsettings.ini

busemaxqualitymode=True(default:False)
detailmode=3(default:2)VALUE UE3 states 1-3

This last one I am unsure of...
bforcecpuaccesstogpuskinverts=True(default:False)
"will this allow for more performance gains ie.FPS" as this will send some more tasks to CPU to help balance Graphics load from GPU.

Finally,do you recommend modding the .bin or making override .ini at my documents/biogame/config/gamersettings.

PS. There are alot of TEXTURE GROUP headings in that "systemsettings.ini" they seem sufficient,is it OK to have those TEXTURE GROUPS in both locations .bin and gamersettings.ini,won't it cause conflicts for engine...

Sorry for such long message...I just wish BIOWARE\EA would fix there broke-ass console port with PC level standard fidelity.

Hello, just like dhwang, I registered to get the tweaker. Thank you !

Although it seems kinda like necromancing a 2 months old topic, I wonder if Cyanide89 could stop by and direct me in the way such that the game engine would fulfill a GTX 670's potential.
