Maingear eX-L 18 – the Most Powerful Gaming Laptop

behavee.. for that much? no one who's into his games enough wants it on a laptop:) u could buy an awesome pc and a low-mid range laptop for that price:)

Aren't Alienware showed the same spec laptop like a month or two ago?? I would prefer their M17x as it has LED keyboard which looks stunning.

soo this laptop is basically a dual 9800gtx system with a fast dual core? too put a 3k price on it seems mad but yet again thats some serious power on your lap

You'd need some serious spare cash to get one of these.

But to be fair, if u got it - get one. If one was dropped in my lap I bet it'd be an awesome piece of kit, be interested in how the battery life works out.

$3000, probably ... £2600 ??

Bling for bling's sake, obviously not for the mainstream, but hey Alienware PCs aren't exactly cheap and they seem to sell enough units.

I'd seriously not get one myself :p

That is some serious grunt for a laptop would expect battery life to be poor which defeats the point of being a laptop :P

Not wanting to put too much of a fine point on this, but those CPUs are horribly underpowered. You can get a 3.06 GHz dual core laptop cpu, and novatech are offering laptops with i7 cpus.

I can see the point. If you are at university or something similar, where it is a pain to bring a big tower, a nice powerful, compact unit is very nice. Also if you want to be able to game on holiday or whatever they're also quite useful.

Correction if it was dropped on your lap it'd break both your legs if it weighs in anywhere near the same as the companies Alienware M17 !! :-)

hmm imo if your gaming on holiday or while in university your social life must be something not to be desired. :)

Yup, truth is I have a brain full of issues with regards to social situations. Also, I'm setting up a LAN society at uni.

toejam you really do like too call on peoples social life dont you

you can go too uni with a gaming pc and still have a great social life you know :D

.....but if you take a gaming laptop on holiday i totally agree lol, that would be incredibly nerdy

Nope, its a great idea. Bring along a stack of blurays/dvds and watch them on them if your away in a foreign country and have a group of friends waiting for the bars to open. (Skiing in VT worked like this)
