just bought a mach 2 gt r507......

with my fx 57 and dfi nf4 d-r motherboard......

if i run cpu @ 1.45 volts in bios reads -5 if i run super pi in windows with speed fan

temps read -17

soon as super pi is running temps go to 2c this is 1 meg a s well....

if i turn volts to 1.5 volts and do super pi temps can go as high as 10c

surley this cant be right ........ please any help out there.....

Have you tried it at higher volts? Do you know what load your mach is tuned for? Bad contact?

this is the 4th time i have had the mach 2 head off.

contact is great imprint on cpu...............

ill try 1.6 volts and will look @ speed fan temps......idle....

could u please do the same just to compare temps to see everthing is ok

if u can that would be a great help m8.... want to thrash this cpu a bit....

I'm afraid my computer's a bit dead at the moment so I can't. My one that's tuned for 210W does really badly on my 57 too. I don't know what the one I'm using is tuned for. What does the mach2 display read - idle and load?

-57 idle load 49 load

Hmm i get about -69 idle and -57 load.My 210W one gets about -46 idle -37 load though.

Looks like you're somewhere in between my 2.

Mach displays are famous for uncalibrated temp displays.Me and Scorchio both have same machs tuned by the same person and although our temps are similar (CPU temps in BIOS) at any given cpu speed/voltage setting our mach displays are 15 degrees apart.

Use speedfan to get a temp display in windows - run something like superpi to see how the temps move, if the temp movment is instant it means really only one of three things:

1) Contact is not good

2) Cooler is at it's limit to your set-up

3) The Mach is not working correctly possibly meaning a leak

If you think it's 3, chances are there's a leak and the temp changes will get worse over a short period of time (temps will increase and go higher and higher).

You can always reflash the firmware to ensure it's not a control board issue.

You're temps sound spot on.

I ran my claw 55 with the gt, and my temps were a little worse overall, but about the same load variation.

2 things.

1. the standard head is pretty small and will allow a greater variation than the chilly1 head.

2. the ihs on your cpu is gonna make for MUCH greater variation that if it wasn't there.

I used to get the odd 15 degree reading, but that didn't really matter.

When you see a 5-10 degree variance in the mach's temp reading idle to load, you have good contact. and that's all that matters. the diode can be wrong, who cares really. if you have a good freeze on the cpu, get clocking and don't worry about temps. if you didn't have a temp variation on the mach's evap temp sensor you should worry, but you DO, so DON'T lol
