Lost 2k

Sounds like it to me fatty mate - try letting cards run above 35 degrees before you do your run but keep em below 60 degrees under load.

I take it you connected all the PSU connections on the mobo (1x floppy connector, 1x molex and 2x PSU) and have a 24pin psu?

So BIOS updated? Which 7800 drivers are you using? are they the same ones as last time?

Was your wendy run done with the system tweaked?

Have you turned of Vertical Sync in driver options - also in advanced setting for nvida drivers have you enabled multi gpu rendering (this is different to enabling SLI and is found in advanced settings by performance and quality)

In the BIOS look for the page that says something about payload - the default is 4092 - drop this down to 512. Also try enabling/disabling the SLI Aperture setting on one of the BIOS pages.

Cheers

Not to be too persistant - but does anyone have any benchmark runs done to actually show that the difference in overall performance from that extra bandwidth in let's say 3dmark05 for simplicity's sake is more than 3-5%? That's what i find more interesting. Or better yet - which apps would really show the benefits of 10x300 over 12x250 over 15x200 (given you used dividers to keep memory at the fastest clocks at which they can maintain their lowest latencies).

Forgive me, but this socket939 overclocking seems so much more interesting.

I cant be doing all that malarky to be honest - I can tell you this:

Bandwidth versus latencies is something that has been debated for a while - I believe its a balancing act and that why I use BH5 (old skool not new stuff) - put simply it gives me the best balance between the two (274Mhz @ 2-2-2-6) TCCD needs a FSB of 300Mhz plus to compete (again 3dm05 seems to twist this rule a bit as Gollum can testify)

1:1 memory ratios with new A64's versus skt A is much less of a performance hit, but it's still a hit - again its a balance, avoid if possible but never the end of the world.

This HTT is something that we seldom feel the benefit from, although we know it's an integral part of the performance we experience - one dull and boring wesbite ran a test on this and was able to prove that 2x through to 5x HTT showed little performance differences in a series of tests although the higher bandwidth in this area is nice to have (mine is set at 4x).

We could really get into all the intricacies of these finer points of A64 - but put quite simply - if/when you get one ask us for our best set-ups and then tweak away until you find your own balance.

Ok using the 77.72 drivers I did notice the cards do go over 60 under load is that why they throttle they seem to run warmer in this mobo??

psu connectors connected

dont think i done the multi gpu thing I will have a look and I will try changing the 4092 thingy to 512

I get like 28k cards at stock in 03 oh with my cpu at 260 x 13

with my cards at stock on wendy I think with cpu @ 17 x 200 was getting aboot that but I could clock the cards up now the cards just throttle or someat and each time I clock em up I get like 21k ffs

Ok very odd when I enable the show gpu balancing I get a better score in 03 near the right type of score???

Yup ??? 30 someat k in 03 280 x 12 so?? 3360 not quite 3400 but getting close to 31k like the wendy mobo

its tccd hence 7,3,3,2.5 at 2.7v but still playing its the first time the cpu actualy likes highish fsb so things are looking up -25 ish in the bios so :)
