LOOKY What I got :)

They have arrived and I got the blue PCB ones :(.

I'm not overly bothered to be fair but I need to know if I can fit a waterblock and backplate to them.

best bet is to check with the manufacturers of the blocks. As I mentioned before they changed the layout of the pcb several times already. iirc one discerning point was the number of dvi ports if they have one its possible its a ref design but not guaranteed. I bought my cards second hand for a guy who bought them at release. Used them for a few days then pulled them been sitting until I started to work them out so far I'm happy with just the simple bios update to the Ghz bios. stock 925 core 1375 mem Ghz bios 1000 core 1500 mem on lower volts to boot.

Hi,
I received my two HIS 7970's today but am very underwhelmed.

They have the blue pcb which I thought I would get used to but I think it's vile, they aren't voltage unlocked and I am not overly convinced they are reference cards.

Not really sure what to do to be honest. :(

Can't you ask for refund? In my country I have 14 days (from receiving) till you can get a replacement product from the same store.
It's probably not 1 to 1 same in your country, but it shouldn't be a lot different...

In the UK not being happy with a product for whatever the reason, allows you to send it back (with a short period of time) under the Distance Selling Regulations (DSR). I did it with 2 670's a while back. The only ball-ache was the insured postage sending them back. Some places may enforce a re-stocking fee, so watch for that.

I guess us yanks should learn from that lol. But in reality it would lead to alot of returns for what some would consider stupid reasons and the economy would plunge further into the abyss
