Looking For a New PSU

So I've got some old hardware in boxes (Phenom II X4 955, 790FX Board, GTX 560) that I want to resurrect and build a secondary system for myself, so I'll need a new PSU to do so. I'll probably move my current Corsair HX 620W to that and get a newer one for my main rig.

I'm too lazy to go searching countless PSUs specifications, so I figured I'd ask here, here are my list of requirements:

* 600/700W +
* Single 12V Rail
* 80 Plus Certified
* Modular

Anyone know of a PSU that fits this bill?

Why not go for another Corsair unit since it's served you so well. The new RM series looks pretty nice but I haven't seen many reviews.

Could always go with the trusty AX760W the non i version made by Seasonic

Thanks dale, both of them tick the boxes, particularly the higher end one, I'll check them out.

Budget-wise, that's not too much of an issue. Obviously cheaper is better, but I don't really have any qualms about dropping a reasonable amount on the PSU, it is an extremely important component after all.

Indeed it has served me well, that HX 620W is still alive and kicking, and interestingly enough, is still under warranty for another few months anyway.

Are there any Corsair PSUs that adhere to my list?

Seconded. My AX750 is a great unit. 2 7950s, 4 mechanical HDDs + 2 SSDs, 2 D5 pumps, a dozen fans, LEDs, temp sensors, etc, and the PS fan doesn't even START unless I'm gaming. Err, I hope it's not broken!

The FD Newton PSU is only semi-modular if that is of any concern..
The FD integra is not meodular at all... Just letting OP know.

Def go for an RM or AX non i version. Both fit your requirements I believe and are fully modular. HX is being phased out by RM i think so don't buy the HX v2

Just looking now, the Corsair AX760 fits the bill quite well. It has a single 12v rail capable of supplying 63A of current, it's fully modular, and it's 80 Plus Platinum certified, which really means it's >90% efficient at all loads.

Needless to say, it's not the cheapest, but it does have a whopping 7 year warranty.

Never noticed it said modular *facepalm*
No need for the "palm", I actually added it after you replied. ;)

Corsair RM, AX or HX probably fits the bill
Probably? Either it does or it doesn't. ;)

Does semi modular count?
My Corsair HX620 is semi-modular in the sense that the 12V CPU power connecter and 24pin ATX connecter are attached to it. You're going to be using those anyway, so yes they do count I guess.

Definitely Corsair, arguably the best RMA support around if you have any issues. The RM's seem to be well priced too.

Not modular.

its semi modular. you need the attached cables anyway.

corsair RM 750-850 uses Ltec capacitors.450-650 capXon. on a psu with the fan profile like the RM series ,its not something i would like to see. cheapo capacitors with bad reputation.

Was posting from my phone and getting on the corsair website was a pain so couldn't check the 12V rail thing :/ As is, the RM is the best shout, Gold rated and fully modular and a decent bit cheaper than the AX series too.

It is not... look at pictures. It's all attached.

I'd go for the Corsair AX series, had my AX750 for over 2 years now, no issue's what so ever. Got a few TX V2's aswell, all work perfectly.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

I'm inclined to agree, that Corsair AX760 looks like it would fit my bill quite well. I reckon I'll probably order one of those over the Christmas.

EDIT: For anyone who owns a Corsair AX PSU (seems there's a couple in this thread), what are the cable lengths like? Would one have problems running the CPU power connecter behind and up over the top of the motherboard tray for instance?
