Looking for a good performing mouse

not stupidly priced - the g5 would be my maximum spending really unless i can get a decent mousemat thrown in. basically i have around 20 cms width (doesnt matter the other way as long as one side is 20cm) as my saitek eclipse takes up most of the keyboard slideout tray and i want as less mousemat wasted as possible. icemat original was suggested to fit this space but £20 is the cheapest i can get it in the uk (at all!)

as for the mouse, i aint using majorly big resolutions (1280x1024 max!) so maybe the 2000dpi of the g5 is pushing it...all i need is suggestions :) thanks you:wavey:

The G5 is nice, i have one, at 1280x1024, on max setting, its just comfortable for me, ...i highly recomend it. :)

i can get a steelpad 4d off amazon for a reasonable price and its not too big - your take on this mat?

G5 is an awesome mouse, I am using one right now 2000dpi at 1280x1024 rez and am very happy with it. I suggest you pick one up, you won't be disappointed.

but is the price as subtle as they are worth it over the competition? will that mousemat make such a difference over my foam/cloth one?

My main concern is cost effectiveness ;)

for value for money i have to say the Razer Diamondback. Depends on your preference shape wise though

well i hate the feel of my "normal shaped" packard bell - and i often change between cloth/foam mousepad and bare wood. Im working bare wood atm, seems easier to frag like that

throwing all size matters out the window - ive got a qck heavy for £13 inc p and p courteous of mr kemp :) nice 1

I love my RatPadz GS, its a great slick surface for uber gaming. But, it wears out rather quick in the longrun, looking at how long most other pads last. I've had it maybe 9 months and it's starting to get flat spots on it.

Im also in the market for a new mouse because my crappy optical is rather uncomfortable and does not work on my table/desk because of the finish on the table. I have been thinking about the G7. Any thoughts or suggestions?

if you want to spend the extra like 15 bucks or w/e for wireless than go for it, but if not, go for the G5, I have had absolutely no problems with it.

Logitech MX Revolution is what you should get if you want the most advanced uber pimptastic wireless mouse pwnage currently available. That thing just looks so boobies.

I was at BestBuy the other day and I was looking at there computer section and was playing around with that mouse. It is the most comfortable mouse in the world!

Just to go off topic for the sake of it, if any1 sees any Trackball Explorer 1.0 for sale at retail, I`d appreciate the linkage ;)

TIA

logitech G5 tbh, trust me man you wont regret it and i know others will back me up on this;)

and for mousemat the steelpad 4d is one of the best bang for buck imo

they can be picked up for around £10-12 and it is dual sided with a rubber mat that goes underneath to keep it secure onto your desk (it might as well be glued to the table lol)

just my $0.02:)

cheers.

It comes down to personal preference in the end. I'm not trying to sway you either way, just giving you my experience :)
