Looking at phone contract options...

IMO they are all scams/waste of money etc. etc. but due to college iv started using my phone more and more. I dont call all that often, but when i do it costs a hell of a lot (O2 pay as u go) meaning i ring even less ( not good socially lol)

And once my free texts go, as does the rest of my credit fairly quickly. my k800i has seen better days too

So im stuck thinkin, monthly with sim only and keep phone (cheaper?) £20 on O2 for 600 mins and unlimited texts

The iphone or similiar would be quite swish, but £35 a month :Z

Never been on anythin bar O2 and coverage is fairly good. Orange is the network choice in my area tho, not sure about voda, but 3 is not even worth thinking about.

Any good deals out ther?

thanks

dont get an iphone, right pile of crap

get a nokia N95

one of THE best phones around

and i have to recomend vodafone for contracts

its been nothing but perfect for me...

I have the N95 from 02 at £35 per month, you also get a free bolt on, so I get unlimited web browsing free too. Never had any problems with it so far and I also get Nokia Maps & Voice guidance free for 12months too. It's a great phone, as Ionicle said, but the N96 isn't far away.

I've played with N95's and own an iPhone's and whilst it's not streets ahead of the N95, nor is the N95 streets ahead of the iPhone. It comes down to what you like/want personally. If you want a stylish intuitive device awesome for web browsing you'll get the iPhone. If you want something with a few more features and a better camera you'll get an N95. One day you'll learn that sweeping statements like that make you look like a complete prat.

Yeah the problem I have with the N95 is that it hasn't changed much since inception and basically it's a little bit of a brick. Nice phone with good features though

Well...

I use it for texts (mainly) and phone calls. Taking pics and videos are a good feature but i also like to have a few tunes on it for sharing with mates or when i forget my kickass mp3 player.

So the main competitors would be iphone or n95? The other main reason i want contract is the fact if u get ur phone stolen they will replace it with insurance right? Would you say contract + phone is a better choice than contact sim only? Even tho it does tie you down quite a bit

You still have to get separate insurance. The main benefit of contract is basically decentish call packages and a "free" phone.

If you mostly make calls and text then I'd say you want a smaller, lighter and better looking phone (the iPhone looks awesome but it is quite long/wide)

because when your phone can do it as standard, you dont need to..

It's nowhere near as good quality as decent headphones.. And miles away from even a cheap set of speakers.

yeah, both true

but its still loud

it will do the job

its not the best

but its better than other phones loudspeakers

so i guess its best in its class..

Don't get me wrong.. I have the N95 and think it's a great phone and the loudspeaker is good for what it is but I don't really have a use for it unless I'm showing a video to some mates.

ahha, i do

at college, if everyone wants to hear a song, they send it to me, and i play it, it fills the room...

or at home, if i cant get to sleep, i put some music on my phone...

not too loud tho, or it wakes my gran up lol

or if i cba getting to to the pc to put music on, phone :D lol

or if i'm at a mates house, and we wanna listen to music...phone

there's loads of situations..

i just plug it into something. The loud speaker is far too tinny on the N95.. Though my 8GB of memory comes in handy!!! The camera is pretty good tbh, best phone camera ive used.

If you want stlye get the iphone, though i used my mates and i love the thing.

If you want features get the N95, and i would agree cant go wrong with vodafone.

I decided and told Vodafone that i flat out wanted to leave them when my last contract finished. They came back at me with £12.50 a month, for unlimited texts, ~100 any time any network minutes, a new handset (SE W890i), errm, some WAP thing i never use, and... Oh and i got the handset within 24 hours of the call ending.

They do anything to keep their customers!

so thinking about phones...

i as a whole, HATE/DESPISE etc. buggy or slow phones.

es me off so much when my phone may freeze/restart or whatever or take for ever going through pics or using the menu fast

That is why..no more motorola EVER :p

Are nokias generally known for fast interfaces? I mean my k800i aint bad but it has crashed a few times in its lifetime and sometimes gets a bit sluggish. The n96 will be a silly amount even on contract so i think we can leave that outta it, the n95 (even the black) seems a bit dated to me and the iphone still seems overpriced :s lol

the N95 isnt dated.. Its still the best phone out there feature wise i reckon..

The black one (which i have) is pretty fast for me, every now and again it slows down when you have full memory.

See if you can find someone with the phone, or go into the shop and test it out.

ok will do

how do these phone upgrades work in contract tho? I mean, if i got a n95 on contract..when would it be upgraded to say a n96 or w.e?

Iv been a pay and go boy all my life :D
