Looking a Raid card

Do you really need sata 3 (ssds)? Otherwise, I'd just get a sata2 card because they are cheaper and fast enough for hds and (at least where I live) there are much more models with sata 2 available

Something from LSI, Adaptec or 3ware should be a good choice

waste of time and money for a multi SSD RAID.. keep it mechanical RAID. the
SSD in Win7 will have issues in garbage clusters and littered in nominal
need for that speed.
unless you are willing to dump serious dollars, ok RAID and SSD is a poor
choice.

As airdeano said, it would be very expensive and I don't think you'll benefit from such a setup in real world applications. The controller alone costs £300-£500, after adding another £500-£1000 for the ssds and you could build a very nice gaming rig instead

How many SSD's? because youll need to spend a FORTUNE on the card.

Tell me what and how many SSD's and Ill shock you with how many kidneys youll need to sell for the card :p

Was getting 8 ssd of a freind for 240 pounds only 120 gb. So though i would ask here frist about raid card and raid 0 them before do anything

Do not no all i was told they have trim and the size and price

Trim doesnt work in raid 0

If you want to get the best from those drives even if they are crap you are looking at £600+ on a raid card.

If you dont want to spend that then just get a couple big drives and just raid them on the mobo.

Is there any of connect 4 because a i have 4 sata 3 port and for them to shown in you my computer as 1 big drive instade of 4 small drive ?

Whats that in English?
:)
I think "Is there any of connect 4 because a i have 4 sata 3 port and for them to shown in you my computer as 1 big drive instade of 4 small drive ?" means something like: is there a way of connecting 4 ssds to my mainboard which has 4 sata 3 ports. I also want them to show up as 1 big drive instead of 4 small individual drives.

I think your mb has 2 intel and 2 3rd party sata 3 ports, which means you can't run four in raid. Of course they'll show up as one disk, that's kinda the idea of raid (along with speed or security)
Tbh if you know that little about raid you shouldn't be spending any money on a raid card.

^^^Hes right, Like Ive already said either buy two big drives and raid them.

Or just realise you cant afford to use all those drives properly or even get what you want out of the board you have.

You need to completely rethink and also learn an awful lot too.

Sorry about the English dyslexia it a real pain , and that why i ask question on here before i buy to get opinion and advise from people that do know

an easier way to ask a question would be:
i am new to RAID and would like to know how i can set up a RAID with X many SSD
drives?

i am needing one for (what is the planned use)

my system specs are:
operating system
mobo
XXXX
XXXX
XXXX
and so on..

awesome..
so do you understand that a four SSD RAID is pointless?
keep it simple.. cost is easier to handle, no wasted spending and fustration on spending
gobs of cash with lil or no return on performance..

i understand by reading your posts and toms posts that it is not the way to go thanks for all the info and advise , Tom keep up the great work on youtube help alot when looking for hardware :)

Its deffo not the way forward, especially where you dont know all the details.

For the £240 quid you could get an INtel 520 or a Corsair GTX Neutron 240GB

With the money youd need for a raid card you could easily buy a 2nd and then just raid the pair of them on your mobo.....

Then you have the fun of trying to work out how to get raid working :D
