Longhorn?? NO - Windows Vista

It seems the peeps at Redmond have come out with another marketing coup - wow their new version of Windows is going to be called Windows Vista!!

I want it NOW!!

Microsoft has also registered domains to go along with the newly christened Windows, including windowsvista.com. The domains were registered in late March, indicating the company made the decision even before WinHEC gave developers their first taste of Longhorn in over a year.

Well they've sneaked in there - what a catchy name!!!

And for those of you who looove a bit of the "Big Blue" - MS are releasing a beta in the next few weeks!!

Longhorn, or Windows Vista, Beta 1 is expected to arrive as soon as next week, with Wednesday being mentioned as a possible date. Beta 2 is expected in early 2006, with the final next generation Windows release expected by the end of next year.

Well I'm so excited I just wet my pants. Especially with the propect of the lovely integrated NEW and more secure DRM!! w00t!!
