Guys,

I'm thinking about swappign out my Razer Diamondback for a cordless mouse, because i cant stand the wires anymore.

I've looked into the G7, but am shocked at how shite the battery life is.

On their website it states that the battery life is about 10 hours, is it really that crap?

My old Microsoft cordless ran for a month on 2xAA batteries!!

I don't suppose it matters too much if you put the mouse in the charging cradle every night, but is it ok to do that? Or will it drastically reduce the life of the battery?

im pretty sure it runs the type of batteries that do not require you to drain it before a recharge, therefore you can charge it whenever and it will not matter.

Even tho Li-Ion batteries don't have a charge 'memory' i thought there was a maximum number of times they could be charged before they become useless?

yeah but you are looking at abut 1 and a half to 2 years

I read somewhere that Li-Ion batteries typically have around 250 recharge cycles, which would probably just about make 1yr with the use the mouse would be getting :/

From what Eguy has told me he has to change the batteries in his 1-2 times a day.

I don't think I could handle that. Viva la G5!

That sounds very ghey. I know the MS mice aint exactly power hungry, but to go from a mouse that can last 1 month on 2xAA batteries, to a mouse that can just about last a day on Li-Ion, is pretty poor.

Looking at the positive side of things they've at least made battery swapping and chargung a quick and simple task.

Someday I might go wireless, but until I can have performance & and battery life all at the same time I won't be making the switch.

I have a logitech wireless keyboard and mouse which i bought back in October 2004, The mouse kinda eats through batteries as 2 AA 's in the mouse last around a month but i cant believe how long the ones last in the keyboard, As i said i bought it over a year ago now and the keyboard still has the same duracell batteries in since the day i bought it !

What i do with the mouse is have a charger on my desk and when i take 2 out i wack them in the charger and get the other 2 out the charger which are fully charged therefore i never have to hunt for batteries.

frag is right.....viva la G5 revolution!!!:D

get a G5 mate, its like it doesn't have a cable its so smooth and the braided wire slides off of anything:p

and the weight system is awesome too i am glad i didnt get a G7;).

cheers.

Mesa likes the Copperhead :D The damn middle bridge thing on the G5 irritated the hell out of my hand so I bought the Copperhead for $59.99 :D

The swaping does not bother me since it takes 1 second and the next one if charged by the time the other dies. It is not as bad as it sounds, trust me, I get annoyed very easy ;)
