No offence mate but is the point of the post going to be explained in the near future? :?

Well this system was from about 4 years ago. I was wondering what crazy pc modders like you guys here on this awesome forum were running back in the day. :-)

I think mine was someat like:

AMD XP2100 pally

Abit NF7 S V2

2 x 256 winbond ch-5

random 550w psu

Cheiftech tower

that was my first build before that it was an old p3 600 compaq

I did have a X286 at one point, but that was waaay back!

My first properly modded computer must have been my AMD Thunderbird, but I replaced that with an Intel rig and stuck with Intel until this day - Now I have a AMD again 8) although this time it has 64 POWER! :D

How far back do you want to go? I started of with a BBC 32k, damn, thinking about it again, I always regretted not getting the Commodore 64. Then I made the same mistake again with the Atari ST but I made up for it and got an Amiga A500, now that was a good computer.

Ok ok you sprung me an apple 2c but that put me off computers for a while my mate had a 62 then he got the mods done to it etc lool

My first computer of any kind was an Applemac Performa 450- before CD-ROM came out.

After that, a Tiny athlon at 900MHz back in the day when the 1GHz barrier was being broken. That did pretty good, but eventually upgraded to an XP2000+ with 512 RAM on an ECS mobo. I loved the ECS mobo- NOTHING would crash that computer. And thats when it started......

lol, my ECS K7S5A was the best. Definitely built like 5 computers with that mobo and they're all still running at friend's and family's houses today!

My old computer specs were a touch pathetic tbh:

P3 750MHz

256MB RAM

ATI Radeon Rage Fury Maxxx

20GB HDD

Crappy Sound Card.

From that i bought my first Vapochill (slot version, now that is old skool), upgrade RAM to 768 MB RAM (was 512 of PC 133 my couldnt get an overclock worth just having the higher RAM)

Toasted by first chip in this system as well by screwing up the Vcore mod slightly, worked out that i was putting 3+V through the core, didnt last to long after that, even with a Vapochill :(

Nevermind, i changed the graphics card to a Geforce 3 Ti200 which i overclocked to above Ti500 levels, and managed to game on that until i changed to my current system (as in my thread on my system) last summer.

This system got me into Vapochills, overclocking, etc, but before that i had a 386 (with a Turbo button :D) which i coul play Commander Keen and Wolfenstein 3D on

Both very excellent games worthy of mention! :D

Oh god I loved Wolf 3d!!!!! I used to sit around for HOURS playing that, made myself sick sitting in front of the PC for so long playing it lol.

Yeah also loved playing Commander keen and wolf 3d - time to do a bit of searching on google t relive it me thinks.

First comp I owned was a 386 sx16, 2mb Ram, think it was a 40mb hard disk. Always remember when my bro got me another 2mb of ram - oh the speed improvement it gave -lol!

regards,

Matt

hehe my first PC was a 486 DX-33, 16mb RAM, 110mb HDD.

Then came the P1 133, which i used a 180Mhz Overcharge Intel chip in lol. I remember getting the 64Mb RAM upgrade for that one, cost a bloody fortune.

Then I went in with a 1.5Ghz Pally AMD XP, then barton 3000+, then Barton 2500+ mobile (first phase unit), AMD64 3200+ (second phase unit), FX53 940, P4 3.4EE, Mac G4 (yuck), AMD64 3500+ (third phase, short lived), and now my FX55 with fourth phase unit.

I didn't bother with all the CPU's I've had but those wer the major upgrades, can anyone notice where I started overclocking lol?
