Liquid cool VRM's

ASUS Maximus V Liquid Cooled

I hope I'm putting this in the right place for an answer I can not find this info anywhere for the motherboard I am going with!

Q: What is the size of the barbs on the VRM (ASUS Maximus V Formula)
Q: Will 7/16 ID 5/8 OD Tube work on the barbs?

Asus support did not know the answers to my questions! :rollinglaugh:

Here's a pic of the board:

Pretty sure they're 3/8s. Definitely not 1/2 or 7/16 (if they even make 7/16 fittings)

Both your questions are the same thing really.

It doesn't really need watercooling IMO. I wouldn't want to be forced to use smaller tubing just to cater for that.

I'd personally go with an MSI mPower, or the new GD65 Gaming series instead if you want the black and red colour scheme. It will perform exactly the same, for about $100 cheaper.

I guess ill have to switch out the VRM's then :( all I know is that they are 3/8 ID all my other fittings will be 1/2inch and no clamps needed I may heat up the tubing to the fittings

I can't bring myself to use MSI boards had a bad go with them before so I stick only with AsRock & Asus now. and color scheme is Red, Black n Silver.

they are 3/8

if you really want to cool them, invest in the EK block for the board, atleast you can keep all the fittings the same

I think that's what ill do but ill try something out first before I buy the block. (melt a piece of tubing on it lmao) Asus should of never put those fittings on there! I would have to mod that block though maybe like a paint job too will have to see when I get it though.
