hi.

i kicked up my oldie a couple of days ago and going to try linux on it.

have a 14gb(ntfs) partition for xp + sp2.

a 5gb(fat32) partition i intended to use with linux and a 10gb(ntfs) partition for storage.

is 5gb enough for linux ?

what is the major differences between the different distros and which one suits a homeuser the best ?

might run the computer as a webserver so i prefer a linux version that can do that.

Regards

firstly, beware tat not all linux distros can access ntfs partitions, let alone write to them. maybe think about making hte 14gb partition fat32.

yes 5gb will be enough to install most distros of linux.

im not too sur eon the major differences, but i recommend ubuntu for beginners. im not sure it has the ability to run a web server tho.
