Lian-Li PC7 plus II

Does anyone know what happened to this case? Someone asked me what case they should upgrade to from their current heavy steel antec sonata and I said lian-li PC7 plus II without a moment's thought.

It looks ok, has front 120mm, rear 120mm and a 120mm fan over the GPU area....however, it's no longer on the lian-li site and the person said that they couldn't find it in the stores they checked???? What happened to it, does anyone know where you can get it?

Thanks.

we can't even mention lian-li??

yeah, sure - PM me the link if you find it somewhere, I wasn't expecting people to post company names here...but the biggest irony is that either most shops haven't updated the 1x120 and 1x80mm spec to 3x120mm....also, I no longer see the Plus 7 II on lian-li's international website even though I have sourced it from some American stores, so i know it exists.

Hmm, well i might've found it but under two new names: the lian-li PC-007 which is the pc-7 plus II without gpu blower but definitely two 120mm fans. The other one has the spruced up front and a slightly modified internal which is the PC-G7. :(

I really did much prefer the PC7 plus II exterior to the PC-G7. but oh well, not for me!!! :)

well, sod's law. I found the Second edition of the case for sure - but i made a mistake - no GPU blower unless you buy the lian-li accessory. Well it's been fun indeed tracking this beastie down.

But yeah, G7 doesn't look as nice :(

Another case i spotted was the NZXT lexa - i'm not sure whether it's ugly or nice. Any thoughts on it? The lian-li looks so much smarter tho.

Deffo go for a PC-7, who needs a gpu cooler anyway? Try for the one with 2x120mm fans (I didnt think they did a 3x120mm one, I think they kept to 80mm in the top)

Or go with a V-1000, even more impressive looks and build quality!

Thanks for the post - they like the look of the v1100, BUT, it's and inverted layout and their mobo has the heatpipe solution for the chipsets - and I'm not going to install normal passive heatsinks on the board for him just to invert it. If I remember correctly, a lot of people had provlems with the A8n-sli premium in v1000 cases.

I think a case with a fan over the gpu area would be good as they will have a sound card, raid card, tv card and 7950 (yes, i know the 7900 series have problems, but he doesn't care) in close proximity :(

Yeah, lian-li do three - the G7 has a front 120mm fan, the 'patent blah blah' gpu 120mm fan and a rear fan mount that looks to be 120mm (I hope - asked them).

Or you can get the PC-7 plus SE and add the BS-01 fan.

Chris just to let you know about the upside down style case, I have a V1100+ with a A8n sli premium (ie passive chipset) and it stays under 40C.
