Lian Li a05 project of fail.

News just in! The rad is mounted:

This is how much of the cut I got done before losing the dremel bit:

So I concentrated on drilling the mounting holes:

and as a result the rad can be mounted (though the cut is not complete- great for sizing purposes though!)

until next time, that is all

looking good so far man.... get that rad mount finished !!

decided bout the powdercoating as well?

Yeah will get the cut done once my new discs arrive.

I think i will go for a black interior as that leaves my options open as to whether to powdercoat the outside white or not.

Lol modding rabbit is gonna live ok.

Hopefully I will be able to do a bit more with the case until my discs arrive.

very neat dremle work :D

ty.

the filter got here today too :D

Need longer rad bolts- going to order button head bolts from modelfixings to secure the rad and look nice.

Also looks like I will have interior powdered black by TTL or similar.

Today has been good. The weather is glorious so I can do lots of work outside on the case :D

Even better these came:

Meaning this could happen:

But only after this, yum yum yum:

Now, onto the real updates:

Finally cut out the radiator hole on the bottom of the case- thick aluminium is thiiiiiiiiick. Probably only 2mm but my dremel is shockingly bad.

The rad fits nicely :D

And finally some glamour shots of the rad and rear fan mounted with thanks to nice scottish sunshine :D

Thats all for now- hopefully my reservoir will arrive soon along with my barbs and tubing (black tubing and primochill ghost 3/8" barbs).

Possibly going to do a bit more today. Looking at ways of cable managing the case as it is not the greatest for cable management.

Also, a question. Do you guys like me uploading larger images? I can upload larger versions of all my images but I want to know if you lovely people think its worth doing?

I think this size is just right, shows enough and doesn't take ages to load for us slow connection people.

If you have a really yummie photo or one with lots of details you could of course upload a higher res version. I wouldn't include it in the post if it's above 1280*1024 though, link to it then.

I agree. I will do "big pics" towards the end of the mod to show it off once its worth showing off lol.

That is how the case is designed m8ey.

The rear fan intakes air and the front fan and psu exhaust it.

Airflow shouldnt be a problem tbh.

Air will come in bottom rear and escape front and top.

Should cool reasonably well. If it doesnt I can switch the rear fan to exhaust etc.

Forgot you had the top fan, dont count the PSU as exhaust though dude.

You'd have to when thinking about equalizing pressure, wouldn't u ?

Or u mean instead of an exhaust ?

Well lian li do, and I know it wont pull out a huge amount of air but every little helps I suppose.

Got a load of 6mm (afaik) P clips from maxw a while back, gonna run a load of those to keep the power cable extender in check

Might also shorten the power cable extender as it is really too long now I've relocated the socket.

Positive preasure is the best way to keep dust down and neg preasure for temps but then your pc becomes an even more efficient hoover :p

I think this build will end up nearly equal pressure wise- 3 restricted intakes (2x rad and one fitered) while it will have 2 fairly unrestrictive exhausts and the psu.

Another update.

Since I'm feeling really flash with a dremel atm I decided to f**k it and go ahead with cutting the window myself.

It has turned out well. It is but a hand file away from perfection.

This is the design stage- a small window that shows (and more importantly hides) stuff while looking good.

Woo more scrap alu!

And the resulting window cut
