Yeah, that's probaby the only sensible addition to the monitor market in like a decade. I've already set aside the money for this one. Now to wait untill LG gives my country the benefit of having these in store shelves.
That would be a waste of money. There's like 2 PC games that support dolby vision, and I think only netflix supports streaming dolby vision on PC, but maybe not even that. I certainly can't verify that even though I do have a Dolby Vision enabled display conected to my PC.
Basically even if a monitor came with dolby vision you wouldn't be able to use it. The dolby access app, requires that the entire system be validated in dolby labs so you can't enable dolby vision on PC with a dolby vision display by yourself, you'd need to buy a pre-built that already came with dolby vision support from the factory Or just, you know, pay the fees to send your computer over to Dolby laboratories and back, and also pay the licensing fees.
I think HDR10+ is free to implement, but you would still not find any content for it. And windows stilll wouldn't support it natively, just the same as it doesn't Dolby Vision. From my experience even when ripping Blu-rays with dolby vision metadata attached, I can only play it with dolby vision if I put the file on a thumb drive and directly into one of my TV's USB port, even plex won't stream Dolby Vision metadata to a Dolby Vision enabled TV.
