I'm a bit relieved to see this tbh. Nvidia has the most complicated naming scheme of them all and they've been pushing it far too much now. Not just re-brandings, but the base of the naming scheme as a whole. For example, why doesn't the 8400 perform better than the 7900? Higher model number, but less performance. While it may be using an updated architecture, to the consumer, it make no sense and may be misleading.
It was only a matter of time before someone started pushing back.
Hopefully Nvidia will smarten up and rethink their naming scheme.
