Leaked RX 6800 XT Benchmarks points towards strong 4K performance

Ray Tracing performance on Par with the Turing cards, 2080Ti at that.

Have to say that's much better than I was expecting, if confirmed of course, and a very impressive first stab at their hybrid hardware/software based approach to Ray tracing.

Well done AMD...and I say that as a confirmed Nvidia user.

I suspect many people will be relieved that when it comes to RT, these cards will offer an excellent alternative to the Ampere cards for Cyberpunk 2077, even if RT on Radeon cards won't be supported until CD Projekt patch in support for the new AMD cards.

Nvidia won't like this but i do :D

3080 vs 6900XT i think we know how that ends.

5pm next wednesday will be an intresting watch :)

I've got a feeling that the 6800 XT just might be my next graphics card. I'm really excited to see these get into the hands of reviewers.

That's higher than I would have imagined. I imagined the 6800XT would be below a 3080 slightly with the 6900XT being somewhere between a 3080 and a 3090. Solid RT performance as well given the circumstances.

So it was the 6800XT AMD showed then. Meaning they still have the 6900XT and possibly XTX to come.

Holy crap.

From what I have read the possible 6900XTX is just an AMD exclusive 6900XT with higher clocks, A bit like the 5700XT Anniversary Edition.

Aye but even minimal numbers at that level will still be huge dude.

Think about it. 3090 10% faster than 3080, costs twice as much and people are falling over themselves to buy it lol.

Good part is I go back home on Tues, so I can watch Weds on my 65" TV.

BTW calling it now. The XTX is their Titan card.

True, Either way I'm waiting until at least summer for stock and prices to hopefully stabilise :)

I think it will still be a paper launch. However, if they can sort something out with shipping ETC then it shouldn't be too long. I reckon TSMC are ramping up. Not only for these but for the 5000 series too.

I'm not in the market for pretty much anything now. I do want a GPU and block for my 2070S rig (because no one makes blocks for it ffs) so it could well be an AMD card.

I use this rig now for online gaming (PUBG ETC mainly). It would be nice to have an all AMD PC though. Funny thing is it's a green themed rig lmao.

Well I really hope that's true, seems way more viable than I expected.

Maybe now it will become clear just why I think Ampere is so crap. It could have been so much better. They wouldn't have this problem now either. AMD are about to become a right boil on their ass.

I did have faith. I said if Nvidia had a bad day at the office and AMD had a good one the whole thing could be flipped on its head. They just need their DLSS competitor now. Nvidia can rub on about RT all they like but it doesn't impress me half as much as DLSS.

I will admit I've been pro amd on these cards but for good reason, but even i expected it to be slightly less and the fact it will be slightly more is even better, kinda expected the 6800 to be around the 3070 so the 6800XT is pretty much on par with the 3080 least in rasterization is a really good sign that they have something good.

Even the DXR being on par with a 2080ti is actually very good, even if the higher end cards don't improve on that it's still perfectly useable.

The only real thing that could upset is price but even that I'm hopeful of but i think all the cards next week announced will have 16gb ram so maybe rather than undercut they might be price matched.

If these cards use Direct ML thou then that will be a very big feature what little i've seen of that looks very good.

For what RT is right now yes, that is more than enough to enjoy it as it is. Notably in single player games where you don't care so much if your FPS tanks. It should be more than enough for Cyberpunk, as both of my 2080Tis handle RT very well for single player.

Of course Nvidia fans will rattle on and on about RT but any one with half a brain will realise it's still far too early for it to matter. DLSS on the other hand? will only get better.

Cyberpunk 2077 isn't a demanding game tbh unless with DXR turned on and high resolution, these cards should be more than fine, by the time DXR matters mainstream were be looking at new cards.

I think they will have something similar to dlss or other methods that give the same results or at least help performance in other ways, they both have full access to DXR DX12 ultimate so it's not like they don't use the same API's.

I'm really looking forward to wednesday just hope it's not as short as the CPU event was and go's into a lot of details about everything.

DX12 ultimate is supposed to have something similar to DLSS. According to a set of screenshots that Microsoft has released a while ago, it might be superior to DLSS, at least visually.

Well we still only have rumours.

Well we still only have rumours.

We don't though. We have specs, leaks, pictures of the cards, what process they are on and now benchmarks.

We had all of the same things for Ampere too. Just earlier.

There is no way ever on this earth that AMD should be even be able to get within spitting distance of Nvidia. Ever. They are years behind. All it took was over confidence and before you know it you have another Ryzen situation.

None of what has happened recently has happened for no reason. As soon as AMD shot out the specs for the new consoles Nvidia s**t themselves. I think that was when it began to dawn on them that going with Samsung would be a huge mistake.

Ampere as it is? is OK. Minus all of the issues and BS. However, Ampere on TSMC 7nm would have killed AMD for good. As you will probably see if they do switch to TSMC, or when Hopper arrives on 5nm.

So glad this card is a solid performer as it's what I'm likely buying and going to be putting with a 5800X I just hope the chips is no more than around $630 and the GPU $1200 AUD

Long time AMD GPU user so sign me up for the Biggest of the Navi's - I've have and have used Vega VII's, 64s, R9 290s, 7870s, 6970s so I'm elbowing my way to front of the queue. I don't give a flying f for RT, I want raster power for VR, and compute for ROCm stuff. 🙂😜🙂

I'm saving up but it might be late novemember before I'm ready but i'll just get what i can afford if the prices are kept down then i can get a more powerful card, but it'll be one of the three they announce next week without any doubt even if i have to save harder for it :)
