The CrossFire stutter will be twice as fast.Maybe if they put enough brute force into the next gen, it will be so fast the stutter won't be noticeable!

As much as I've read and understand about cards and have spoken to other people about this matter, The new single GPU flagship will either be on par with the 780 OR 5-10% faster, I'm thinking more along the lines of 5%.
He obviously means quadfire and you know it.

It Also says it only supports Open GL 4.2, which is currently up to 4.4. It also doesn't say Direct X 11.2!
Now, maybe the Stream processor count and the Clock speeds may be real, but I think that;s just a suspected core count amount and I think this whole thing is fake :/

In all seriousness though, I hope the 9000 series (or Rx 2xx? I'm still confused about the new naming scheme
) comes with a hardware implementation for the micro-stutter - If some people are to be believed though, the next gens going to be a huge deal, so it wouldn't surprise me if it is.NeverBackDown

Nvidia has the same problem. They just fixed by using hardware instead of hardware. Which is more effective. AMD should make a hardware chip for the problem and add software on top of it to reduce it further. Seems like a smart move considering they already have invested so much into the software side.

I still get the frownies when I think that my 680 was actually meant to be a 660 and I should have gotten a 780
8000 series with venus chips? I think these rumors are old. I remember reading almost the same thing a year ago (You can read release date Q4 2012). Then amd released 8000 series OEM which are rebranded 7000 series. Now we are waiting for the hawai chips 9000 series or whatever its gonna be called.
Its rumoured that AMD will finally anounce them next week. Hope its true, because my HD5770 is in dire needs of replacement...

Sept 25th is anounncement... Expected release is before BF4.
BF4 releases on Oct 29th so we can expect graphics cards to release around mid october... Still a month to go.

Not as drastic an increase as I was expecting purely based on the spec sheet. We'll have to see how much better Hawaii is as a platform over Tahiti, but if the R9 280X is going to perform as good if not better than a 780 like it's rumoured, I might have to defect to the red side >_<
