Leak suggests aggressive pricing for AMD Ryzen 9000 series CPUs

IF these prices turn out to be true then AMD's yields must be amazing and they want to get them into as many systems as possible.

I tell you what, AMD and Windows 11 are doing more to push me towards an Intel CPU that Intel are doing to attract me!

I have 3 pc's all brand new components all working 100% solid on Windows 10, no issues at all.

I put Windows 11 on them and I get a 2 to 3 second freeze on initial load in to Windows, games randomly freeze, software and games just randomly close, the pc's run slower and finally when I copy a file from any of the pc's to my server, it locks the machines up so I cannot do anything else on them until the transfer has finished.

I do the same on my Intel Windows 11 based Laptop and runs fine, no freezing, runs faster in general usage, no slow down when copying files etc.

I took the NVME Drive out of the machines, put them in to the laptop and booted them, all of them booted and ran without issue.

Frankly there are 2 reasons I am not swapping out to Intel at the moment, 1 is that they are having issues which are currently worse than my AMD issues and secondly I don't have the money for 2x 14900K & 1x 14700k based systems.

I don't have any freezing or crashing issues on Windows 11, It's smooth as butter and it's just a guess but I'm on a 7800X3D which has just 1 x CCD which also includes the stacked cache, Maybe that's the issue as you have the 7900X3D which is really 2 x 6 core CCD's with 1 having the stacked cache, That could be causing some latency issues leading to freezing or crashing.

Just a theory.

I'm running windows 11 with a 5800X3D set up and not had any issues at all. Is it defo your CPU causing this?

I've 4 boxes here on AMD platform, 5950x & 7900XT on X570, 5800X3D & 6800 on X570, 5600X & 6650XT on X570 and 7600x on X670e and all are as good as gold on Win 11. I'd go so far as to say that the 5800X3D combo feels the best in light use as it boots in under 6 seconds from cold but the old girl 5950x is the best when you've something chunky to do. I'd suggest a clean Win 11 install with fresh chipset and Audio drivers.

Just want to add this happens on my 3950x, 5950x, 5700x and 7900x3d all of them freeze on initial boot in to windows and will randomly lock up when transferring files from any of them to my server or another one of the pc's.

It only does it on Windows 11, doesn't do it on Windows 10 or Ubuntu.

I have a week off work from 3pm today, so will do some testing, but I am really sick and tired of it and as I say it's pushing me away from AMD!

It's not happening with myself and a few others who are on Windows 11 with Ryzen CPU's so it has to be another common denominator.

If it's working on all the other OS's then it's just a software issue. Especially if it works on 10. 11 isn't really anything different.

Possibly, but it's going to be annoying as I first need to do a fresh install of Windows 11 on all 4 machines and see if it's something that is installed on all machines like say Steam, MSI Afterburner, Epic Games, One Drive, Chrome and Klite as those are the only common or most common programmes between them.

2 of the machines are sat at my desk

1st one has Steam, Epic, One Drive and Chrome with all my games.

2nd one has Steam, Epic, One Drive, Chrome, Firefox, OBS, Discord, Sony Vegas, Shotcut, Streamdeck Software, GoXlr Mini software, Gimp, Handbrake, and a few other bits.

3rd Machine is my dad's but my old 5950x and 3080Ti, it has Steam, Elgato Capture card software, OBS, Sony Vegas, Handbrake, Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Frontiers Elite Launcher

4th Machine is one that is generally not used which has my old 3930K and 2080Ti in it, that is currently sat in a box collecting dust as my dad broke the USB-3 connector off the board when trying to unplug the cable, so not able to sell that pc as I don't fancy buying a new board just to sell the pc. Will turn that into a mining rig with a cheap solar panel and battery system at some point.

Not to stir the pot but I had quite a few unexplained issues with my 3950x and the 3600 I had. I have had no such issues with the 5700X3D, or the two Intel CPUs I run (well three, 12700KF, 11700KF and a 12900 mobile part in my NUC.)
