Big Thanks to the EU who have decided that they should stick on 14% levvie on any LCD's that are not made inside the EU

Great - that means that any LCD bigger than 19" will cost even more than they do now

Apparently this is in contravention with the Information Technology Agreement (ITA) that states that levvies should not be encouraged

Hands up who wants to slay thew EU!!

Sometimes i really hate this country. They are full of BS. First chance i get, i'm moving abroad - i'm fed up of the way the governement rapes everyone.

as if there were cheap enough in the first place, this country is a rip off and yet is becoming more of a rip of. I swear there gonna slap tax on every bloody thing they can.

Every countries government rapes them... lol

Just some more than others. Time for a wee bit of a look at some property here in the states mate! Cost of living = mucho less as well. (Depending on the area of course, don't move where I am... Stupid lil 1 bdrm apartments are $1200 a month...)

yeah, here in the UK house price's are stupid, theres not a chance in hell for first time buyers :( meaning im gonna be stuck at home for another couple of years.

Unless someone wants to pay me millions for a software application or two :P

It says LCD DVI, so presumably analogue only screens won't be affected.

Anyone have any idea when this is going to kick in?

so on the otherhand, we may see a rise of them being made in europe. mind you, im sure they will bump the price up a little to be only a little cheaper than the others.

Been watching the prices come down to replace my CRT and just when they're starting to look reasonable this happens.

lol thats what a ranch in the summer here will go for a week.

Just a little frustrating cos in the UK a lot of pople are just waiting for the prices to sink to the right level before taking the plunge.

Guess i will have to wait a little longer now as in a years time they will all be at a reasonable price so the tax will not have much effect (I HOPE). If not looks like the current telly stays complete with knackered on off switch, and ten tonne weight.:D
