Holy crap! 106% increase in LoL? That's very good. They know where the money is at least. Pretty much a direct attack at AMDs APUs for that game.

Also found a typo. 2nd to last paragraph. "are repeated in order to same power" I assume it should be save? :p

Careful with marketing numbers like that. You could find that the number that the 106% is compared to was terrible, or remember that 2fps to 4fps is also a 100% increase, but the 4fps number is still pretty crap. I've seen both Nvidia and AMD pull similar shenanigans in the past.

Marketing departments, be wary of them. :p

Ya i understand that but i also know its that the FPS in that game with iGPU isn't that bad. Otherwise i wouldn't have cared:p

Plus compared the increases with the other games, its by far the easiest for a system to run so i doubt that previous FPS wasn't that bad.

Would this apply to the, G3258 ? I've been and checked out intel's download page, but when it comes to selecting what product, it is asking for what graphics are built in, like HD4600, or 5200, but all I can find that the G3258 has is HD graphics, I'm going to go out on a limb and deduce, that it isn't supported. ( just call me Holmes, Sherlock Holmes, white with 2, stirred to the left )

I think its the GT1 version. 4000 maybe?

Still you can't put the iGPUs against an A10
But for people who build intel for office use this is going to come in handy (provided they know how to update a driver  )

I was already running 80fps on League of Legends with my Intel HD4400, I'm not sure which chip 106% applies to (I'm not gonna reinstall LoL just for a benchmark), but it could be pushing out some very good numbers now.

I compared my old desktop (ATI Radeon HD 4850, Intel Core i7 920, 12Gb RAM) on Minecraft with my laptop (Intel Core i7 4500U, HD4400, 8Gb RAM) and the desktop only pulls ahead by ~10 fps, so I found that to be pretty cool.

Anyways thanks for the info! I would've never found the update otherwise :)

an iGPU is a real gpu. Why the hell would it apply to discrete cards? Its not even the same architecture, let alone neither one interact with eachother at all.

That's the point. It's nice to see that you gain e.g. 3-7% in BF4 and Skyrim and 10% in Arkham City. But real gaming with an iGPU? So no profit from this update for most cases...

Intel still has about 20% of the graphics market(according the last months steam survey) simply because most gamers are the casual type who only play on their laptop every now or then. So yes it is meaningful. Not every gamer plays the latest games. I know a lot of people who have mediocre laptops who play games that are very old. Doesn't need a lot to run well. Its just intel trying to improve themselves and improve the future iGPUs they release and for a good reason.
