Heartland Payment Systems, a US credit card payment processor, announced yesterday that their systems had been breached and the event is under investigation by the US Secret Service and Department of Justice.

Do we trust banking institutions fullstop currently ?

I do personally think we'd be better off with less banks in the world. More major ones like we had ages ago.

Shouldn't have bailed them out imo, but that's another thing.

On a side note, the processing of the data involved in only an hours worth of transactions is incredibly massive.
