Laptop overheating

Not sure where to post this...but my laptop is hitting some very high temps while idle/browsing and crashes while F@H. The CPU is an AMD Turion x2 TL-64 @ 2.2GHz. The only way I can fold is if I turn down CPU usage to 10-20%(next to useless). The temps from CoreTemp are 84/85C.

have ya given it a good cleaning lately??? I know lappies run warmer never tried folding with one but doesnt sound logical to me but try blowing out the fan area

You can use a laptop stand, or you can just improvise one. Just use a couple of books and position them on the two rear rubber feet of the laptop is it gets a bit of an angle and that the air intakes have a big more room to draw air in. The angle helps with heat due to the fact heat rises. It can also help with ergonomics when using the keyboard, but this would only save you 5*. You might get a proper notebook cooler as well if you want.
