Lancelot - Bitfenix Shinobi AMD build

Hey OC3D!

Here's the new build that I am considering. Both the name and colour scheme of the build are based upon the 'Lancelot' Kinghtmare/Frame from the anime Code Geass, which is a white, gold and black scheme. I found that the Bitfenix Shinobi, in white with the custom gold trim suited this scheme perfectly.
Here is the full planned spec:

CPU - AMD FX-6300
Motherboard - Asrock 970 Pro3 AM3+
RAM - Teamgroup Xtreem LV 8GB (2x4GB ) 2133MHz
GPU - ASUS AMD HD 7850 1GB
HDD - Seagate 500GB SATA-III 7200RPM
PSU - Corsair 430W CXM Modular power supply
CPU cooler - Thermaltake Frio

All-in-all, the system costs around £500, and I would like to keep it at about that price range (Or hopefully less!). Thoughts on this system, and any improvements to the spec would be greatly appreciated!

would have to agree with seumasbeathan on this one go for the 1600mhz ram piledriver cpu,s dont like anything above 1600mhz fsb for some weird reason i would use the money saved on the ram to buy a slightly better gpu .but it really depends on what you,ll be using this rig for

hhhmmm might aswell get the 2133mhz ram give ya self some head room for the future the hey point taken lol

White shinobi with gold trim, and an all black motherboard and GPU. I might switch out the frio for a dark knight, to fit the scheme :D

*Drools*

Deffo swap out the Thermaltake cooler, it would ruin that colour scheme completely. Besides, Thermaltake are not the best quality anyway

The rest of the plan seems good, even though I'm an Intel fanboy ;)

Would it be worth spending some more cash and upgrading to a H100 with this build?

I am also considering spraying the top mesh in gold, but would that affect airflow?

I haven't been able to find that much info about the Tt Frio, but xbitlabs did a review on it.

According to them, the NH-D14 is quite a bit better than the Frio, and IIRC the H100 is
comparable to the NH-D14 (more or less, depending on the review you read, example 1,
example 2, and oc3d's review).

Having a look at oc3d's review you might also want to consider the H80i, maybe? It would
probably depend on what price you can get the H100 for, but the H80i would have some
advantages (more matured tech, the Corsair Link software if you can make use of it, and
better bench results according to Tom). EDIT: And smaller size, if that's important /EDIT.

EDIT:
Spraying the mesh shouldn't affect airflow if you don't gunk up the air holes, but depending
on what paint you use that might be a possibility. The paint layer itself will be very thin, so
that shouldn't be a problem, but the paint might form a film over the holes in the mesh and
close them (to predict that though will be tricky as it depends on many factors, mostly the
mesh hole size and the paint's viscosity, which in turn is influenced by ambient temp quite
a bit, at least for the paints I've used in my time, which admittedly is not that many ;)). Think
of soap bubbles. But it might also work very well, you'd probably have to try it out. There's
lots of people who have spray painted their mesh, so it doesn't seem to be too difficult.

he would need the full sized shinobiXL or be prepared to mod with a dremal and drill to fit a h100i in the standard shinobi.

its the reason i have a deposit on a h80i for my rig as i don't have access to a dremal...

I'm prepared to do some case modding, I'm also looking at using a car-style ignition key as the power switch, which would need a hole cutting anyway. Any thoughts?

The key idea sounds pretty  I'd say.

As for the cooler, personally I'd probably go with the H80i. Seems to perform better from
Tom's results, and somehow all those problems people had with the early H100's have
left a slightly bad aftertaste in my mouth. ;)

I'm assuming the H100i is out of budget?
