Hi,

Im going to try and explain the problem as best I can,

I have the same problem with both P5N32-SLI DX and the P5B(green?)

Power on, everything starts, fans etc, hdd spins up and dvd spins up....then nothing, the gfx fan then goes full spin nothing more.

Ive changed ram mobo's cpu's pu's gfx the lot and same result for all.

mobos: 2x p5n32-sli

1x p5b

cpu's: x6800

d950

d805

Ram: geil 5300

ballistix 6400

firestix 9600

gfx: bfg 7900gtx

psu: enermax liberty 620

tagen 580

Ive tried all the obvious things like cmos, nothing appears to be burnt or 'leaking' so Im stuffed!

All were working rigs then just stopped....:?

Thanks in advance

all stock cooling.

Ive tried all three cpu's in all three boards with the same response to all.

The system powers up but nothing seems to be getting to the cpu skt ie. the cpu doesnt even get warm to touch :?

I had working rigs before... the first was running all night no probs turned off in the morning, came back to that evening and nothing. Changed mobos, all good again running sweet then it just stops again?!?

Ive no idea whats causing this but its driving me nuts!

Thanks for helping!

Sounds like two duff boards to me - unless your PSU is faulty?

I am assuming that all the power connectors are properly connectied to the mobo - 24pin, 4 pin adn any molex connector?

What psu do u have?

Wondering whether you've got a Duff component (cpu perhaps) which killed one of the boards, and then each time you put another CPU in its killing that? Or one of the CPU's is killing the mobo each time perhaps?

The GPU is the only single component - so it would be worth checking with another. It sounds like bad luck whatever it is! :(

Ive got an enermax liberty 620mod and a tagen 580mod both dont help

Ive swapped out both gfx cards 6800gs and 7900gtx.

There is power to the whole system all the fans etc start up but no bios beep or the cpu getting hot (no power?)

The p5n's worked with all cpus (apart from x68) before, I had been swapping and benching with all for a short period. then it stopped. I swapped all the cpu's to the p5b and all worked. Installed the x6800 to the p5b clean install of win updated everything all good. Changed ram etc started playing with my new benching ram;):D then just stopped working after 20 mins of OCing.

Wouldnt post or anything, swapped psu's, ram, cpus, gfx the lot.

Im starting to think that maybe the bios chip is fried... Can this happen?

If so where to get a new chip??

Thanks for the help!:ok3:

I know your EXACT problem. First, the P5B (green) isnt even core 2 compatible. You wont get it to do anything with that processor. Second, you will have to do what I did. The p5n32-sli wont recognize the lower voltage requirement of core 2's the first time. You have to (and this sucks I know) buy or borrow the cheapest celeron you can find (or other comatible cpu...then flash the bios with the latest version...the put the x6800 back in. I promise this will work as I too have 2 p5n32-sli se deluxe's thinking it was a bad board...now one is a wall decoration! Thats all there is to it. I cot a 2.6ghz celeron for about 35 euro so its not that bad I guess just should'nt have to do it in the first place. hope this helps

Hi, Thanks for your help!

The P5B IS Core 2 compatible with the new bios, and I had it working and benching for a couple of weeks before the failure with no problems whatsoever and it was blisteringly fast.

The P5N-32's I have are not the SE edition they are the Deluxe (before SE) which I know are not Core 2 compatible but the same failure occured on these running Pent D950 and Pent D805!?!

Thanks for the suggestions and if you can think of anything else it would be great.
