Kingmax turbo pc3500

I would say NO.

I'm not a fan of Kingmax at all.

I tend to stick to:

OCZ, Crucial, GSkill, Mushkin or even Corsair.

Kingmax would never be on my list I'm afraid :(

Well the above ones tend to make RAM that overclocks very nicely and even runs at stock speeds with vwery tight timings increasing performance.

Basically with memory: you mostly get what you pay for :)

OK thanks for the info I'll take it off my list

I would advise against anything from kingmax. They make products that cater to people looking for cheap cheap cheap parts.

The companies that kemp listed are all very reputable ram manufacturers and its hard to go wrong with any one of them.

The low end manufacturers usually produce modules on generic low priced pcb with the least expensive variety of memory ic's currently available to them. The combination of those two things = horribly slow memory which is at a higher risk to randomly die than the good stiff from top makers.

I would look at G. Skills current lineup of ram, it seems to be clocking well and very reasonably priced.

why not geil mate? do you dislike them

GEIL are ok but the only person I know with a real good OC on GEIL is Jim.

I've used it with a mates buil;d and it didn't OC very well.

Cheap and cheerfuil but I wouldn't buy it :)

my geil sucks for oc'ing, but some magic sets did have BH5 so can't complain. i think its great value actually

I've just been looking on ebay, is this what I should be thinking of getting to clock my Opteron 144, Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC4000 1024MB DDR (2x512MB)?

I settled on a 1Gb dual channel set of Mushkin XP3200 (PC3200) 2-2-2 Redline Xtreme Performance from a Irish online shop, about £30 cheaper than any UK retailer that I could find.
