You've obviously tried EK, Diamond & Bitspower which I believe there is only a universal one available.
Can I ask why you would choose this card with that beautiful white cooler and then put a water block on it?

Because many in this OC3D community are performance monsters who love to watercool and overclock like crazy :)

Besides, once mounted in a case you can't see the cooler, but you still get to see the beautiful white PCB.

EK won't make a block for this, they never did for the 900 series, but I am pretty sure that Bistpower do,

I get that:), it was just a light question on that particular choice when that cooler looked so cool. I checked bitspower and didn't find one but may of missed it. I wonder if there is a company that could do custom backplates for these type of options.

ColdZero does custom work for cases, GPUs, sound cards etc. He has done some amazing work for me too and not that expensive. Just google him and you will find his site. Portugese master of quick, case mods :)

I for one can vouch for that dude, really nice work that man does! :)

You won't get any more out of that card on water than you will out of any other 1080.

On air you are playing for a very nice cooler that will allow it to boost very high at stock. On water none of this will make the slightest difference except to your bank balance.

On LN2 for extreme benching that card gets beat by a Kingpin 980 Ti, a card from the previous generation.

If you want the HOF 1080 use it on air or if you want to water cool get a 1080 that has waterblocks available.:)

Well if Kaapstad is saying its not worth it, im inclined to take his word.

I suppose opting for reference models has always made it easier for me.

Haha no, was not say that it wasnt true. Was just saying that they may release one with a preinstalled waterblock like with the 980ti.

I like the card for the looks - and I would use it for a build that I want to do in the Thermaltake Core P5 for now.

But in a few months then I will have my PC desk ready and I want to have the 1080 under water as well - so i thought I would pick this card for now as I like it - but I need a block for it.

I was thinking of a seethrough plexi block that shows the white pcb. And yes, I know you wont get any more performance from the card under water - but once water then I wont go back to air...

Makes total sense why you want to go that way. It's a beautiful looking card. EK probably won't ever make a block tho due to its sales popularity and also the fact many won't consider removing that snazzy blower for a water cooled solution.

When it comes to water cooling, I, like many others don't or won't do it for the performance gain alone, but for the looks it can bring :)

Id say Diamond Cooling will make a block for it. There sit is down at the min but they have made blocks for all other hof cards so they mite do for the 1080 soon
