Nice! Max I can get is +170 core and +225 on the memory with +132% on the slider. It's weird though, if I leave the core alone I can clock the memory up to +450. Memory clocking has little effect anyway though.

Hence why I want to get it under water as I really don't want to touch the power slider whilst it's on air.

Even with the power slider all the way up to 132% my temp didn't hit above 70C while benching. I did have the fan on max though.

I can only get to 170 on the core but bumped my memory up 400 and i got a little more than a 100 point jump in the benchmark. 2290 with just 20more on the core than I originally had and 400more on the memory..

I want my a GPU

yeah enjoy the card cant wait till i can get enough funds for mine but with being outta work due to a back operation and waiting for yet another operation, all i can do is droool at these cards atm , i am saving as best i can xd . ohh well just have to wait i suppose .

That's horrible. I don't get that thankfully. It almost sounds like something is in the fan. I haven't heard coil whine like that. I'd RMA if that were my card, wouldn't be able to live with that.

I got RMA number and will send it back soon.Just wanted to know maybe it is common problem with GTX580 cards.

Well it's a common problem with anything that passes power through a regulator.

There are things you can do to 'try' and get around it. Changing the power source is a general way. That can be through changing which pcie connectors you're using in your case, or switching them around, or sometimes using the molex->pcie adaptors. Even changing psus if you happen to have some laying around.

If this doesn't improve or correct the issue, it 'generally' means the device over the power source is the problem. It's good to try it tho cos you can 'know' that, not necessarily your psu is faulty, but just provides a 'dirty' power source on some level.

Could be that the device is taken back to a shop and makes no noises at-all. It's just cos they're under different conditions.

Yes I know that could be many reasons for that.

But I had GTX480, GTX570 and GTX580 withion last 2 years and there was no noise whatsoever.

I will go for non reference now, but I have no idea what to choose: Palit Jetstream or KFA2 EX?
