Yep Sand Diego FX55 rocks.

Using BIOS 510-2 on DFI SLI DR MOBO

The temps are good too, -16 in the BIOS, fully overclocked and looking good.

waiting for the dual core 4800+ will push it to its limits r507 chilled........

how can u read temps with the dfi-dr board.......... mine shows silly temps.....

Alright Daz mate - how do you like the old AQM scores then??

Just reading what it's telling me Daz Mate, fully overclocked BIOS tells me its -16 degrees.

My Clawhammer unit fully overclocked said -6 degrees, so even thouh I know that teh temp readings are loopy, the SD unit runs 10degrees cooler than the Clawhammer.

The reason I did not go dual core at this time was due to the fact that they run hotter than the FX and draw more power - I had a bad experience with Intel EE P4 where MOBO's could not handle the extra draw under massive overclocks - I feel that Dual Core may put similar levels of stress on the mobo's and even though maasive overclocks can be obtained, my worry is it will be short lived.

We are at least 12 months away from mainstream apps taking advantage (except video encoding of course) so I think I will wait til then.

Good luck Daz, this could be the upgrade that breaks the XEONS hold on the CPC Benchmarks.

Yeah - but for you guys with the good gas, dual core could be an extra bonus - by the sounds of it they're going to ship massively underclocked to keep the heat within spec... so if you can remove excess heat...

I think we're going to see some amazing scores soon - especially in the app tests for encoding and the like!

The only problem I can see with these units is the locked multiplier and having to add a RAM divider to ensure max overclock that is not held back by the FSB limits of the RAM.

It's fair to say that 1:1 BH5 is faster than TCCD, mainly due to the tighter timings - but TCCD can run higher clocks so TCCD may be the weapon of choice to ensure highest overclocks at 1:1 ratio.

Daz your gaming benchmarks won't improve with a X2 over your 3800 venice. Some other benchmarks will of course benefit.

I think I may pick up a 4400+ X2...
