Just 100mhz more to go...

Hi Guys

I finally talked myself into doing some overclocking after being put off overclocking when the session ended in me reformatting my entire hard drive and losing all of my data.

Right, I have a Goal of 2.4Ghz with my current hard drive - Stock AMD cooler, Gigabyte K8NF-9 motherboard, Geil PC3200 vaule buy and a Winchester cored 3000+

I started lossening the timings to 3-4-4-8, sticking on a divider of 133 and automatically ramping the the HTT to 250 which gives me 2250Mhz and everything seems fine (I'm yet to run a stress test)

The problems start when I try to jump the HTT to 267, which will give me 2400mhz. I've tried everything that I can think of to get my machine running 2.4Ghz stably - I've increased the CPU voltage from 1.4v to 1.55v, and increased the ram voltage by another 0.2 volts (the highest my motherboard will let me go) and nothing. The computer just frezzes on a blank screen after the Windows Logo's Sliding bar screen.

I'm even having problems getting to 2300Mhz - The machine frezzes extacly like it does on 2.4Ghz, yet it's working perfectly (I overclocked it the extra few Mhz via Clockgen).

Basically, I want to know if there is anything I can do settings wise to reach my target? I'm so close I can almost tatse it.

Thanks (and be gentle, I'm still a newbie)

no no..thats your CPU multiplier :) theres another setting that goes between 1 and 5.

Your HTT frequency (you mentioned 267 in your first post) multiplied by the HTT multiplier should be less than 1000 ideally. :)

Oh, well, to be honest I'm not sure. I've just checked the BIOS and it's on "Auto". Is there a peice of software that I could download to find it out?
