ive hit a wall with my OC

hey guys, ime just starting to OC my P2 and it seems i have hit a instability wall,my aim was 3.8Ghz but the closest i have got is 3.6Ghz,all ive changed is the CPU multi and the BUS speed and also the CPU voltage to 1.45v and the RAM voltage to 2.220v.

at 3.7Ghz was fine for a while then i got a bluescreen and the system felt unstable anyway and abut sluggish like not snappy at all.

so guys i need to get to my aim of 3.8Ghz,so any help will be appreciated as i just dont no what to change ither higher or lower, but apparently 3.8Ghz is the sweetspot for the P2 940's.

Cooling is sorted tho no worries there

CPU-Z seems to think that you're pushing 1.55V through it? If that's the case you're pretty much on your CPU's limits for overclocking headroom. It's not uncommon for the AM2+ Phenom II's to run out of steam at about 3.6GHz.

Try overclocking by means of the CPU Multiplier only to rule out the motherboard as a limiting factor.

i have set the voltage to 1.45v in the bios mem voltage to 2.220v

maybe its wrong

I woudln't test any higher until you know exactly what is wrong. Don't fry the CPU just because you want it to be faster.

Try loosening the timings to 6-6-6-20, think the mem controller becomes a bit flaky in the PII at higher clocks, you can also raise your NB clock to around 2.4 without any problems on most of the PII boards, check the voltage in AMD overdrive aswell... Enable Health check in the bios and should tell you there aswell...

ok i cant use overdrive but ile check the healthcheck

Also, if you can, just overclock the processor and leave the ram, I tried overclocking mine with them linked and it didnt want to play ball. make sure they are unlinked
