It looks like Nvidia's Next-Generation Shield Tablet has been cancelled

Did anyone actually buy one of those?

I've got a friend who has one. He plays a lot of old emulation stuff. Thing is so do I, on a £40 tablet.

Nvidia's biggest problem has been selling Tegra, when most of the market are on cheap but decent Power VR chips.

They're learned that the mobile market is far less caring of hardware than the desktop market.

This is actually really bad for Nvidia. They need another market to get into because Moore's law will stop them in their GPU making tracks at some point and they have to stop throwing money down a hole trying to make silly things no one needs (like their Shield console, many have tried to make Android consoles but they defeat the point of Android, it's a mobile OS !)

Unfortunately they have ed a lot of people off and burned out some serious bridges along the way so even though they're on top right now they are very much alone.

I've got one of the original LTE models. It's absolutely brilliant for playing games and emulating. The controller works great, the stylus is good for DS games and such. If playing games and going on the web is all you're going to do then it is the best one for your money
