It looks like AMD's Ryzen CPUs will not support Windows 7 after all

That is where i disagree Microsoft doesn't have to sell those licenses for $149 now when Windows has become a service Microsoft could be easily selling those copies for like $50.00 not $149.00 or $139.

I remember years ago Microsoft said they were going to reduce the price of Windows to a more reasonable amount did that happen no Microsoft is just a rip off company.

No wonder why Windows is the most pirated software around.....lol

If I wasn't a gamer I probably wouldn't even bother with Windows on my home PC; alas due to Windows being the only OS supported for gaming for the longest time it means I've got a legacy collection dating back years that's just easier to run on Windows than Linux with WINE.

The only reason I got onto Windows 10 was the fact it was free at the time, Dx12 and the promise of games like Halo and Forza on the platform. I grew up on Playstations and Xboxes so titles like that still have a nostalgic appeal to me. Overall I don't actually mind the OS; it's not given me any major headaches so far, but I use it in a casual gamer capacity, not a full on workstation.

I agree that a license is overpriced though. They should be much, much cheaper. Honestly it's the killer when trying to sell people on PC's for gaming over consoles. When I explain the power you can get for the price of harware it's pretty easy sell these days, but when you have to add £100 for a Windows license onto £400 worth of entry-mid level hardware it's not a small amount and quickly turns people off.

All that said I don't mind companies dropping legacy support. We need to move forward; Windows 10 is well established now so we need to learn to live with it, or to translate that into enthusiast talk: modify the living crap out of it until it does what we want! You can't stop the train, but you can hijack it.
