Issues with dual screen setup

Ok I first noticed this problem ages ago but as it wasn't that urgent I forgot about it and it cropped up again the other day.

When I change my graphics card to show on my tv instead of my monitor its all good apart from it instantly kills my wireless connection for some reason.. It can even see the network is available but it just can't connect at all. Everything else is fine and the second I switch it back to my monitor the network connects.

Any ideas?

1st response is "Eh?!"

2nd is to almost think of a prize for the most stoopid thing for a bunch of hardware/software to do. It`s certainly up there with the best. :worship:

3rdly, we`ll see what we can do ;) Just to try 2nd guessing the non logical problem, I`ll assume your tv is connected via the dvi - switch the cables over and see if it does the same.

The only other things that spring to mind is power saving foul-up (relating to something like laptop lid closing or similar, goto the network device driver sdettings for the wireless and uncheck "allow powersaving blah blah.." also) or some kind of desktop profiling.

What TV is it ? and am I right in assuming both your monitor and tv are connected when you switch, and your switching via desktop command.

Yeah its impressive ay! Its a seriously random problem seeing as you wouldn't think there is any connection between the two things. That's why your 3rd idea is actually bloody good. Shame it didn't help .

TV is connected via HDMI to HDMI with a DVI adaptor on the back of the GFX card. Its a Teco 32" LCD with a Samsung plate. My monitor is a 19" LCD and is connected by DVI straight into the GFX card in the other port. I use Ntune to switch over between the two. Can't switch the cables as one is HDMI. Another lil quirk here is that if I clone the screen with my monitor as primary it works but other way round and nope.

Also with the powersaving thing. Like I said great idea but when you search for a network it still finds them all with full strength signal just will not connect at all.

cant you turn the tv display on and off through windows rather than ntune. My tv is connected to my pc and I just use windows to turn the display on or off, whenever I trued using ntune it would get the primary and secondary screens the wrong way round,so now I dont use ntune

Done that too and it doesn't make a blind bit of difference. Same problem.

Meh its a stupid bloody problem.

Holy thread revival Batman!

Same problem has arisen again... Thinking of getting a different wireless card and see if that solves the issue.
