I have a HAF X case with it's standard coolers, 230mm in front, one 200mm on top and one 200 on the side and the 140mm in the back. My room temperature is 26 degrees Celsius. My procesor is an i7 2600k at 3500mhz ( stock ). Thermal paste is prolimatech pk 1. On idle or normal use my core temp is 48-49 using a Corsair H100. Is that normal ? I mention the radiator is mounted on top and fans at maximum 2092 RPM.

also did you remove the pre applied thermal paste before putting on the prolimatech stuff????

My windows dvd will arrive in 1h and after i install it i will be able to tell you under prime95 my temps. Atm in bios i am getting 47-50 degrees celssius wich is awfull hot i think. I think yeah it's pull config, out of the box installed. Yes i removed the TIM from the heatsink before i applied my own.

Well, when in the BIOS the CPU is being worked believe it or not. Not worked hard like Prime95 but certainly busy...not sure why this is, it just is! I'll usually see into the low to mid-40 on mine (2500k @ 4.6) in the BIOS screen using an Antec Kuhler 620 push/pull. I'd say your temps are a little on the high side maybe, considering I'm running at a higher clock, with less rad area. However I am push/pull which will make up for some of my rads lack of size I imagine.

Let's see how benching goes when W7 in on there...it might simply need re-seating or something, maybe more or a little less paste for example.

Best of luck,

Scoob.

After installing windows 7 and all the drivers i checked with Asus Probe and the temperature was 35 C - 37 C wich is very cool. So who am i to thrust, the bios temp or asus probe temp ? I will download HWMOnitor and see what readings i get with it :\ thanks scoob

bios always shows me higher than what hwmon does I'd go with the probe or hwmon as I think they'll show the same results

also next time ya ask a question like this or others lol please try and give more details. Like leaving off this was in bios might of gotten different answer from me before

Yep, totally normal.

I see mid 40's in the BIOS screen at 4.6ghz yet moment later will be idling in the mid-20's in windows.

Nothing to worry about dude.

I been monotoring it with Everest and HWmonitor + Asus probe and it keeps under 40, 40 max. All well when it ends well !
