Is this normal behaviour?

Hi, Im new to phase change cooling and recently purchased a mach2 prometeia(it was sold to me as prommie, but says mach 2 on this back).

I've just been dry testing it by plugging it into the wall(green light) and shorting the blue/white leads to get it to kick in(green and orange lights) but it gets to -29c then stops and starts warming back up. Is this normal, or do I need to keep the blue/white shorted rather than just jump starting it.

When its going, if i keep hold of the head of the pipe, I can feel the gas pushing through, but its like its doing it once every 1.5 seconds, is this normal?

Hi,you will need to use a jumpered psu connected to the molex of the unit to keep it running.To jumper a psu,connect the green wire to any black wire in the psu atx plug.

It sounds like it's probably trying to boot the PC around -25 or something and when it doesn't get the power signal on the molex connector, it shuts down.

It's meant to be plugged in to the PC psu, and when the PC boots up it gives the molex power and the cooler knows the pc is on, and keeps going.

Have a read through the manual and you'll know how to set it up for your own system, like pc boot temps, safety temps, etc.

Hope you enjoy it, extreme cooling can be a lot of fun, but reading the manual so you know your way around the system is a really good idea

SOmething i forgot to mention, when I booted it up, it took almost 3 mins before getting to -29c. Not sure if thats normal.

Hey. The unit needs some time to pull down to operating temperatures...the gas has to be condensed to a liquid

IS there anyone who mods these units to have both a gpu and cpu cooler?

www.ep-uk.co.uk can satisfy your modding needs, be mindful that becuase of the difference in heat output that there is a considerable amount of time involved in setting it up correctly - but I believe it can be done.

Prometeia is the name given to the mach2 GT by EPUK and also has some heritage associated with the manaufacturer of these phase units - the name might be wrong but the product is the same, although if you post some pics that can be verified.
